Job Description

    Virbhu India Pvt Ltd Vadodara (Gujarat), a wholly owned subsidiary of AK Power Solutions (USA), operating in the field of power electronics, has an immediate opening for a Medium Voltage Mechanical Packaging Engineer.The Medium Voltage Mechanical Packaging/Modelling Engineer is responsible for the design of electrical enclosures, tanks, transformer, cooling of liquid dielectric-filled power converters containing power electronics components. Works with minimal supervision and leads others in a team setting to design and support the construction of power converters. This position will also be responsible for reviewing the mechanical structure, fastening system, and working with component vendors to approve mechanical design of components. The position shall be reporting to supervisor or manager.Responsibilities Packaging & Modelling of Medium Voltage Components for electrical enclosures, transformers, tanks, cooling of liquid dielectric-filled power converters containing power electronics components. Designing Structural packages for Power Electronic equipment using machine element design considering thermal, vibrational, and Fluid flow boundary layer aspects Selection of materials both, metals, and non- metals Review designs for mechanical integrity and conformance to applicable standards. Conduct mechanical design calculations and validation of the same. Follow clearance and creepage requirements for dielectric and thermal/magnetic heating. Read, interpret, and prepare data for engineering bill of materials. Prepare other engineering documentation such as 3D models, 2D drawings, and specifications for manufacturing. Review mechanical design of outsourced components, Reviews changes required with suppliers. Coordinate mechanical and reliability testing of power converters.Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering with good understanding CAD tool such as Inventor/Solid works/Catia Minimum 8 years of work experience in Medium Voltage Mechanical Modelling-Packaging Must be able to interpret utility specifications, basic mechanical design to build a 3D model. Must have a good understanding of sub-assembly, switchgear -accessories, accessory arrangement. Ability to understand basic mechanical engineering calculation related to stress analysis, thermal design, etc.,
