Job Description

    The Senior Quality Control (QC) Manager in the transformers industry is responsible for overseeing the entire quality assurance and control processes for the manufacturing of electrical transformers. This role ensures that all transformers meet or exceed industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements, while maintaining the highest levels of product quality, safety, and reliability.Company : ATLAS Transformers India LimitedLocation : POr, Vadodara Experience: 10 years of experience in quality control management, preferably in the transformers manufacturing industry. Proven experience in managing teams, conducting audits, and handling complex quality-related challenges. Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of transformer design, manufacturing processes, and testing methods. Familiarity with electrical and mechanical testing standards (e.g., dielectric, thermal, short-circuit testing). Proficiency in the use of QC tools such as SPC (Statistical Process Control), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), root cause analysis, and more.Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance and Control: Lead and manage the quality control team to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality transformers. Develop, implement, and enforce quality assurance policies and procedures throughout the manufacturing process. Conduct regular inspections and testing of transformers at various stages of production (incoming materials, in-process, and final product). Ensure products meet compliance with industry standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE, etc.) and customer specifications. Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in production processes to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and increase efficiency. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for any quality issues identified in the production cycle. Work with the production, design, and engineering teams to resolve quality concerns and improve overall product design and manufacturing processes. Team Leadership and Training: Manage and mentor the quality control team, ensuring their proficiency in performing tests, inspections, and reporting. Develop and implement training programs for staff on quality standards, product specifications, and proper testing procedures. Foster a culture of quality within the organization and encourage continuous learning and improvement. Testing & Inspection: Oversee the performance of standard and custom tests to verify the functionality and durability of transformers (e.g., electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing). Ensure testing equipment and tools are calibrated and maintained to meet regulatory and industry standards. Prepare detailed reports on test results, defects, and improvements to management and customers when needed. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulatory standards and certifications (e.g., UL, IEC, ISO). Maintain proper documentation for quality audits, inspections, test results, and certifications. Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to quality management systems (QMS) and continuous improvement practices. Customer and Supplier Interaction: Coordinate with customers to understand their quality requirements and resolve any product-related concerns or issues. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that raw materials meet the necessary quality standards. Handle customer complaints related to product quality and implement corrective actions as needed. Reporting and Analysis: Generate and present regular reports on quality metrics, testing results, and product performance to senior management. Analyze quality trends, identify recurring issues, and propose solutions to prevent future problems. Support senior management in decision-making related to quality strategy and resource allocation.Required Skills And Qualifications Educational Background: A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced certifications in quality control or quality management systems (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing) are highly preferred. Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills to report findings to management, customers, and suppliers. Ability to train, motivate, and mentor team members. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in the identification of potential issues and opportunities for process improvement. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
