About the role: Purpose of the job - The Configuration Management (CM) Manager plans, integrates, develops, drives and monitors the application of the BT Configuration Management process and verifies that the change implementation is properly applied and BT CM Principles are rigorously respected according to GRP-016007. - If this job is allocated to the project, the CM Manager is a member of the Project Core Team according to GRP-004893. - If this job is allocated to any Function involved in the Configuration Management process, the CM Manager is part of the senior staff in this Function and may be a member of the extended project team as well. - He/She implements the integrity of the BT Configuration and Change Management process and its governance. - He/She oversees all functions involved in the Configuration and Change Management process - Establishing the CM network including all involved functions in the Configuration and Change Management process. - Identification of Configuration and Change Management responsible personnel in all required levels of the organization, within the project team, and ensuring that they are adequately trained and empowered.
- Managing of interfaces between Configuration and Change Management process, e.g. by implementing the Change Management process on the projects from day 1, ensuring documentation control (numbering and version control, storage, numbering and naming conventions), and release management. - Ensuring that related processes, tools, policies and procedures are in place to cover the whole Configuration and Change Management process chain - with agreed transfer mechanisms of data between tools, if necessary. - Identification and definition of Configuration and Change Management deliverables (all functions) including harmonization and reviews. - Compliant operation of Configuration and Change Management process throughout the project/product lifecycle by the use of KPIs. - Effective hand-over and coordination of Configuration and Change Management processes, responsibilities and data at the end of key phases (realization, field support). - Providing a defined and transparent interface between Configuration and Change Management teams. - Ensuring proper application of the standard IS tools used.
