Job Description

Automotive Infotainment Semiconductor Analyst - IndiaAutomotive Infotainment Semiconductor Analyst - IndiaThe IHS Markit Automotive - Supply Chain and Technology team is in search of a Senior Research Analyst Automotive Semiconductor in India with a strong focus on infotainment. The role will contribute to the delivery of current and new IHS Markit services around the semiconductor supply chain and demand across all automotive domains and especially around SoC and memory for infotainment systems. General Job DutiesThe position is a dual role with:

  • Global lead for semiconductor for infotainment
  • Regional analyst for semiconductor across all domains for India
Global lead analyst for semiconductor in infotainment and telematics with strong focus on processor and memory for infotainment (head-units, cockpit domain controller, telematics).
  • Build global analysis (forecast, slide presentation, reports, conference and customer presentations) on consolidation of electronics in infotainment with domain controllers. Track evolution of supplier ecosystem and key technology trends in infotainment semiconductor with regarding to processing, memory, networking etc.
  • Build and maintain semiconductor Bill-of-Material model for infotainment systems using:
    • Block diagrams of ECU layout from chip vendors
    • Teardowns of ECUs across wide range of cars in Americas, APAC and Europe
    • Interviews with Tier 1 and chip suppliers
    • Input from regional automotive semiconductor analysts in America, Europe, China, Korea and Japan
  • Coordinate research input (desk research, interviews) from regional semiconductor research analysts in America, Europe, China, Korea and Japan. Support regional analysts as needed on interview and customer calls
  • Review forecast quality with monthly updates, globally and by region, using quality dashboards and visualization tools and define research actions to improve coverage by regional analyst.
  • Presents at global webinars and to key clients globally.
Regional analyst for automotive semiconductor in India for semiconductor content in ADAS, Powertrain, Chassis and Body and provide input to global lead analysts for these domains
  • Build and nurture network of industry contacts in India with local OEMs and suppliers and industry associations.
  • Have regular calls with OEMs and suppliers in India to present our views and collect feedback.
  • Research and maintain supply chain information for critical semiconductor from chip vendor to Tier 2 to car maker in India
  • Act as subject matter expert and go-to person for expert opinion in automotive semiconductor in India. This will be achieved by producing original research and commentary on technologies, market volumes, pricing trends, market drivers and demand conditions, market participant shares and supplier agreements. The research product takes the form of periodic market databases and reports.
  • Collaborate with other subject matter experts within IHS Markit to ensure timely, consistent and accurate flow of crucial thought-leading research on topics related to the area of focus.
  • Respond to client product inquiries and support them with email, telephone and face-to-face meetings
  • Present research findings at conferences, tradeshows, client events, webinars and similar
  • Project work involvement, including cross-regional and cross-team projects as needed
Requirements
  • Graduate degree in electrical engineering
  • 3 to 10 years of experience in automotive electronics with focus on infotainment either at a semiconductor vendor or at Tier 1
  • Proficiency with MS applications required (Excel, Word and PowerPoint); understanding of database mechanics helpful but not essential (e.g. Access, SQL)
  • Fluency in English required for communication with global team
  • Passion and knowledge of automotive industry as well as proven connections to the automotive industry
  • Skill in Analysis and Data interpretation with attention to detail
  • Strong presentations skills and comfortable in client interactions
