You ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world. As a member of the Application Platform team, you will be responsible for the design infrastructure development testing integration operation and support of the Buildpack offering. You will be part of an agile development feature team reporting into the Buildpack product owner. The Buildpack feature team is responsible for adhering to firm-wide architectural design standards risk management security policies and data management policies. The candidate will assist the feature team with setting strategic technology directions development best practices and will also conduct peer code reviews. The candidate will support all elements of the Software Development Lifecycle and participate in the development of integration elements data models and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Team Responsibilities: Design, Develop, and Operate solutions for a cloud computing platform encompassing private and public clouds, at scale Bake in attributes of security, auditability and observability into the platform Define and build value-add services on the platform using cloud-native principles Create technical design for development and integration of new software and system technologies Participate in software and system performance analysis and tuning, service capacity planning and demand forecasting Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via developing tools and automation Adopting cutting-edge technologies and creating best-of-breed solutions by researching and evaluating alternate solutions Help evangelize and adopt cloud to an eco-system of developers in the technical community Candidate Responsibilities Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of public cloud-based production system. Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS production systems. Management of creation, release, and configuration of production systems. Evaluation of new technology alternatives and vendor products. System troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms. Pre-production acceptance testing for quality assurance. Provision of critical system security by leveraging best practices and prolific cloud security solutions. Providing recommendations for architecture and process improvements. Definition and deployment of systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on AWS platform. Designing, maintenance and management of tools for automation of different operational processes. Skills Proven track record in building complex infrastructure as code solutions using best practices - completely from Bitbucket (Ansible, Terraform, Cloud Formations, AWS Managed Services, AWS Storage & Compute Services) Proven track record in AWS Lambda, baking AMIs, and EKS/Kubernetes containers in CI/CD pipelines for virtualization and cloud computing. Experience using iterative base images to increasingly customize images / containers from base configurations. Proven track record in architecting and maintaining high availability production systems Strong development skills in Python, Shell Scripting Proven track record in developing monitoring architecture and implementing monitoring agents, dashboards, escalations and alerts Good knowledge of security (SAML, OAuth, OpenID, Kerberos, Policies, entitlements etc.). Good knowledge of security controls for the Public cloud (encryption of data in motion/rest and key management) In-depth knowledge RedHat Enterprise Linux and customizing the deployment / kernel configuration for public cloud. Experience with distributed, parallel file systems and related tools (GPFS, CFS etc.) Reviews and provides input to AWS policies and standard operating procedures. Provide input on design, implementation operations, user guides, and training materials for the AWS environment. Experience with Cucumber & customer device testing frameworks a plus (understands the protocols and connectivity required, understands how browsers are designed, and how devices work. Able to understand, compile and build - Java, J2EE server-side REST and SOAP micro-services - JMS, XML, CXF Experience with tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, Jenkins, Gremlin, AppDynamics, DataDog Experience with identifying and monitoring key performance metrics for Kafka, Cassandra, others Strong knowledge of software design patterns and microservices architecture,
