Job Description

    Position Title:Sr. Manager IT Infrastructure Global Network and Unified CommunicationsPosition Summary:Manage the global network, telecom and collaboration systems and team. Responsibilities include team leadership, detailed design, technical architecture and network operations to meet the infrastructure needs of the global business by providing leading solutions and highly available trusted infrastructure services.Key Tasks and Deliverables:Manage, and provide expert advice on, the selection, design, justification, implementation, cost and operation of network, telecom and unified communications related projectsDevelop, sustain and communicate the network, telecom and unified communications structural frameworks (hardware, software and other components) which meet the present and future requirements of the business.Manage a staff of IT Infrastructure technical professionals, hire and train new staff, conduct performance reviews, and provide leadership and coaching, including technical and personal development programs for team members.Advise on staffing of network, telecom and unified communications related projects with internal and external subject matter experts as part of global and regional programs.Ensure that all new network, telecom and unified communications services are delivered to the business with the right service levels.Ensure that all network, telecom and unified communications investments are managed through their full economic life cycle to optimize its value.Implement and manage continuous performance measurement within the network, telecom and unified communications to identify, prioritize, initiate and manage services and initiatives.Facilitate scoping and business priority setting for large or complex changes related to the network, telecom and unified communications infrastructure, engaging senior stakeholders as required.Coordinates with and enable the IT services operational and support teams to perform pre-defined standard adds, moves, and changes.Specify and design complex network, telecom and unified communications systems.Create and maintain overall network, telecom and unified communications plans to support the organizations business strategy.Select appropriate design, product models, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively.Review others systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology.Ensure that the system design balances functional, service quality and systems management requirementsContribute to the policy for selection of architecture componentsMaintain complete documentation of the global network, telecom and unified communications components including H/W& S/W, support contracts, equipment EOL etc.Manage the contracts, relationships and performance of the global carrier(s)Plan and develop capacity planning roadmapCoordinate with regional team members for circuit management, payments, etc.Making sure of having a single view of global network, telecom and unified communications systems.Coordinate with global carrier & service provider members for setting up clear process to handle trouble tickets, payments, complains etc.Create and maintain network, telecom and unified communications strategies. Analyze the opportunities provided by emerging technologies and evaluate the impact and risks of major design options to maximize implementation benefits to Momentive.Take responsibility for the management of network, telecom and unified communications testing activities within a development or integration project or program.Consult with IT Security team to ensure that security is factored into the evaluation, selection, installation and configuration of hardware, applications and software. Recommend and coordinate the implementation of technical controls to support and enforce defined security policies.Manage all risks associated with the testing and take preventative action when any risks become unacceptable.Position Objectives:Owning and managing global network, telecom and unified communications infrastructure (LAN, MAN, WAN, WLAN, Remote-Access, VOIP, Telecommunication, Firewalls, etc) and identifying improvement opportunitiesContributing and adhering to standardsReviewing and approving major global network, telecom and unified communications platform, technology, standards, and policy changes as part of change control and project processes.Evaluating and running proof of concepts for new global network, telecom and unified communications technologies and solutions.Leading the development and presentation of global network, telecom and unified communications and business cases to senior executives.Owning the relationships with the global Telecom providers, and ensuring that all SLAs are met.Act as the forward looking person for Momentive IT global network, telecom and unified communications.On an ongoing basis, examine current operational processes to identify and suggest potential operational improvements that will positively impact productivity, service, and safety, environmental and cost performance.Key Metrics (KPIs):Service satisfactionInfrastructure component availability/response timeService unit costsProject deployment time effectivenessNetwork/Telecom security & vulnerability managementKey Relationships: CIOIT Infrastructure DirectorIT Tower owners & staffBusiness process ownersEnd-UsersSuppliersAccountabilities: Accountable for all global network, telecom and unified communications systems.Accountable for managed service provider(s) specifications/requirements in the area of global network, telecom and unified communications systems.Accountable to manage the implementation, testing and administration of global network, telecom and unified communications systems platforms, their associated security controls, and frameworks.Review the feasibility of new and existing network, telecom and unified communications systems/products.Scoping and business priority setting for large or complex changes related to the global network, telecom and unified communications systems, engaging senior stakeholders as required.Develop RFI and RFP technical and functional contents, evaluate technical proposals, study their feasibility, and participate in technology selection.Meeting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.Decision Making Authority: Set priorities across the team based on business requirementsSecure knowledge level of workforce is up to standard.Adhere to and promote relevant Infrastructure policies and procedures.Additional Details:Education Requirements:University degree in IT or related fieldQualifications:Minimum 10 years experience in IT infrastructure global network, telecom and unified communications systems.5 years management experience in IT programs/projects.Multiple Cisco certifications within the networking and collaboration technologies.Expert knowledge in the design, implementation and operation of Cisco networking and Cisco/Microsoft/Legacy voice technologies.Expert knowledge in the design, implementation and operation of unified communications technologies and/or supporting platforms including Video Conferencing.Competencies:Customer service focusedExcellent written and verbal communication/presentation skillsExcellent project leadership and team management skillsCapability to Lead ChangeSound quantitative and analytical skillsAbility to work effectively and enjoy being part of several global virtual teamsCompetency in defining and introducing new, professionally-managed network servicesBusiness AcumenInclusivenessResult OrientedPreferred Qualifications:2 years of experience in defining infrastructure strategy for a global, multi lingual businessExperience with Microsoft unified communications platformsExperience managing cloud/hybrid infrastructuresMicrosoft certifications within the collaboration and networking technologies.IT Security background and experience, firewall policy management, remote access, network access controls, etc.Travel: 10%,
