Job DescriptionAs VMConAWS Site Reliability Engineer (NSX), you will be involved in exciting technical challenges by analysing, troubleshooting and Automating infrastructure while always thinking about reliability, scalability, resilience, security, and performance.Reporting to the VMConAWS NSX-SRE Manager, you will be a part of the team responsible for helping to support 24x7 uptime and availability of production mission critical customer facing cloud services distributed across multiple regions. Youll help to create more consistent, automated push button environments across all tiers, proactively test and tune all aspects of the infrastructure, monitor and respond to system notifications and alerts and continually work to optimize and improve the performance, security and reliability of our systems.Are you ready to be part of the future What you will do Help build a Site Reliability Engineering culture across the organization by sharing your best practices, approaches, documentation, and code with other engineering teams Apply automation and software to any tasks or parts of the system that would benefit from it or are performed manually Able to troubleshoot complicated, cross platform issues, handling Networking environment and handle live production incidents, debug/troubleshoot infrastructure issues, follow and implement SRE best practices Monitor Networking Infra performance, take steps to improve overall performance and stability and follow through with implementation Conduct system analysis, configuration management and develops improvements for system software performance, availability and reliability Design, write, ship, and motivate the creation of software and systems to increase observability, product reliability and organizational efficiency Work closely with Developers and QE to ensure the system is responding properly to requirements such as performance, security, and availability. Document your system knowledge as you acquire it over time, create runbooks, and ensure critical system information is readily available to those who need it Keep up-to date with security and proactively identify, diagnose, and solve complex Network issuesWho you are 3+ years experience as Network supprot Engineer - Mandatory Strong scripting skills using Python. Strong knowledge of L4-L7 protocols and Network services Strong knowledge in L2 and L3 Networking troubleshooting / debugging - e.g. tcpdump, wireshark, traceroute, route, netstat Good Understanding of Virtualization and Cloud - Installation/Configuration/Administration (ESX and KVM a plus and AWS) Operating Systems: Deep Linux knowledge - Installation/Configuration/Administration (RHEL and Ubuntu a plus) Knowledge of web technologies like HTTP/HTTPS/REST API Knowledge of networking components (Routing, Switching, Firewall, IPSEC, Load-Balancer etc.) Understanding of Public & Private cloud ecosystems (Ex: VMware, AWS, OpenStack, Kubernetes etc)Excellent communication, time management, and process adherence skillsVMware is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Prohibits Discrimination and Harassment of Any Kind: VMware is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
