Senior Software Engineering Manager

The Windows team at Microsoft, India, is growing a Centre of Excellence with a focus on innovating the next version of Windows to provide new signature and personalized experiences for users, making customer onboarding seamless and productive. You will have the opportunity to collaborate across multiple teams within the Windows group and other product groups in the company.Responsibilities:- Influence and align the product vision by collaborating with customers, partners, product management, and engineering teams.- Manage a team of high-caliber Software Engineers, ensuring project and development excellence, and provide technical leadership.- Deliver high-quality results with full ownership, taking the product to the next level.- Own the career development of the team through active coaching.- Create a team culture of engineering excellence, customer passion, collaboration, diversity, and inclusion while having fun.- Hire and develop the best talents.Qualifications:- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10 years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR equivalent experience.- 4 years of experience in designing, building, and shipping software at scale, along with at least 4 years of team leadership and people management.- Solid design, coding, debugging, teamwork, partnership, and communication skills.- Experience in leading large development teams to achieve complex goals on time and on budget.- Proven ability to find shippable solutions in the face of conflicting and ambiguous requirements.- Excellent technical skills in driving design and architecture with cross-product and services dependencies.- Ability to drive innovation with customer obsession.- C design/architecture skills with expertise in leading teams in Windows development are a plus.- Experience with cross-group design and coordination is an advantage.- Must be self-driven, curious to learn, proactive, and result-oriented.
