Job Description

    RMS is looking for a climate change product analyst to be part of its Model Product Management team, engaging in activities that support the model development agenda and commercial success of RMS climate change models. That support includes:
    • Working within the climate change product team to define and bring to market new climate change solutions
    • Collaboration across a wide range of RMS teams to ensure the success of model-related projects and initiatives
    • Technical discussion with RMS clients regarding model methodology and usage of RMS climate change solutions
    • Problem solving to develop solutions to client inquiries that require subject matter expertise
    Essential Job Functions
    • Engage directly with clients to understand their business objectives and develop solutions to meet those objectives
    • Review model methodology and certification processes for RMS Climate Change Models
    • Coordinate with software development on product specifications and technical implementation
    • Support the development of model documentation, client presentations, and marketing materials
    • Manage and execute on client consulting engagement and service requests
    • Perform research and stay abreast of climate science developments on the topic of climate change
    Minimum Qualifications and Skills
    • Possess a BS/MS or equivalent degree in one of the following disciplines or a related field: Climate Sciences (Meteorology, Hydrology, etc.), Mathematics, Statistics, Physics
    • Demonstratable understanding of the state of the science surrounding acute and chronic climate change physical risk
    • Experience applying climate science in a client service or technical/analytical role, preferably in the field of catastrophe modelling or in the insurance market
    Preferred Qualifications and Skills
    • Demonstrated self-starter with superior problem-solving ability
    • Excellent training skills - ability to teach complex concepts in a clear and effective manner
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., R, Python), data mining tools (SQL), and mapping software such as ArcGIS or QGIS
    • Willingness to learn new concepts and technologies
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

    • Remote location acceptable for suitable candidates but office based is preferred.
