Academic Sales Engineer - Career Opportunities Academic Sales Engineer Other Job Positions As part of our continued growth and sustained vision to be a leader in multiphysics modeling, we are looking for an Academic Sales Engineer to join our sales team in Palo Alto, CA.As part of our team, you will use both your technical and interpersonal skills to help our customers understand how the COMSOL product line can address their needs. This position calls for a unique combination of engineering, business, sales, and communication skills. We sell to many of the top engineering and scientific teams in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Northwestern US. These range from start- ups to Fortune 500 companies to national labs to technical universities and their activities cover a wide span of engineering disciplines. As an Academic Sales Engineer, you will have the opportunity to help our customers understand how the COMSOL product line can assist academics in their research projects and teaching programs. The successful candidate will be able to quickly understand complex interdisciplinary technical issues and then, just as quickly, articulate a concise business case for how COMSOL can help the potential customer.This is a small- office environment in a rapidly growing and diverse company. As such, you will be entrusted with a broad range of responsibilities, allowing for personal and professional growth both in sales and in engineering. We are a small, close- knit team of sales and technical support specialists that form an important part of an expanding and diverse global company.Primary responsibilities: Actively identify, develop and expand the sales of COMSOLs existing and new range of multiphysics software to academic institutes and research labs in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northwestern US. Develop new leads and maintain regular contact with existing customers through phone calls, onsite presentations, and public workshops. Work closely with the applications team at both pre- and post- sales stages to provide technical support to customers and prospects. Process all sales opportunities in CRM system and to qualify them accordingly Some travel required (~10%) Requirements: Masters degree in engineering, physical sciences, or life sciences. Excellent time- management skills, balancing multiple demands from many prospects Positive, upbeat, outgoing personality Excellent communications skills, in person, on the phone, and in writing Strong public speaking skills Some experience with computer modelling, FEA analysis or computational physics would be advantageous, but is not essential Eligibility to work in the US Highly creative work environment Great career opportunities at a rapidly growing high- tech software company Casual atmosphere in a small office environment in the heart of Silicon Valley COMSOL provides software solutions for multiphysics modeling.
