* Job Level : Principal Engineer Mercedes-Benz Research and Development, India is seeking Problem Solvers with a strong technical background in the areas of Camera, Radar, Parking Assistance & Driver Assistance Systems Mercedes Benz Park Assistance System assists the driver comprehensively in the search for a parking space and can pilot the vehicle into and out of parallel and end-on parking spaces. The reversing camera and the Active Parking Assist PARKTRONIC help to reduce the risk of collisions with obstacles at the front, side and rear of the vehicle. The Parking Pilot can detect parallel and end-on parking spaces on the driver and front-passenger, assists and enables automatic parking with automatic steering and braking interventions. Key Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the delivering customer functions for Current generation of Parking Systems
• Planning
  • Define and manage product component requirements
  • Define & Own the scope of the software releases
  • Co-Create or Review functional requirements & technical solutions
• Tracking
  • Planning & Tracking of team s deliverables
  • Maintain clean artifacts for product requirements, Defect status, Test status in coordinating with the team
  • Work with the system supplier to fulfill functional requirements for the releases
  • Ensure system /vehicle/ HiL tests for validation of system
  • Ensure conformance of technical content to market regulations
• Documentation & delivery of the release scope for various vehicle model lines
• Decision making
  • Lead and Steer technical decisions on product releases with team & other project stakeholders based on Quality, Cost, Time and Risk parameters
  • Proactively initiate/ participate in task forces to resolve release blockers
  • Lead and represent in various committee for alignments or decision meetings within the project team, senior management or external teams with the carline programs
• Innovation
  • Ideate/ create & improve features of Parking systems to deliver the best customer experience
  • Drive and demonstrate Proof-of-Concept projects within the team
  • Innovative methods to bring tests from vehicle to bench
• Cross Functional
  • Support the department initiatives by leading identified cross functions activities
, * Basic Qualification:
• Bachelor s degree in Electronics and Communication/Electrical and Electronics/Computer Science
• 11-14 years of relevant experience in automotive domain
Key Skills and Experience:
• Experience in technically leading a team of 10+ members
• Strong engineering basics
• Expert level experience in Automotive Embedded systems
• Prior experience in an automotive OEM or Supplier as a SW developer/ Integrator / System Engineer/ SW project manager/ Customer project manager - responsible for a full product, vehicle functions or lower layers of the software
• Intermediate level exposure to in-vehicle measurement systems and flashing tools, Working knowledge of FLEXRAY/CAN/Ethernet protocols
• Working knowledge in Vehicle/HiL validation, requirements elicitation, embedded software or system debugging skills using Vector or similar tools
• Working knowledge of Defect and requirement management tools
• Exposure in one of the following areas - Park Assistant systems, Ultrasonic sensors, Camera/ Radar Based assistance systems or other safety critical systems
Soft Skills & other requirements
• Self-organized, Agile & Make-it-Happen attitude
• Ability to work under ambiguity with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication & presentation skills. Comfortable in representing the team in senior mgmt. forums involving VP to Board level participants.
• Strong stakeholder management skills & ability to contribute as a team player in a matrix organization with flat reporting structures
• Vehicle driving Skills are Mandatory
• Flexibility on international travel for periods of 3 months or longer.
Additional Skills:
• Current working domain - Driver/Park Assistance systems
• Exposure to ISO26262 Functional Safety standards, ASPICE
• Certifications such as PMP or similar
• Interest & Awareness on latest ADAS industry trends
