Job Description

  • The candidate should be self-motivated, production sensitive, and technically talented to support Clarivate 24x7 Java / Tomcat based Applications.
  • In this role, the candidate will provide monitoring and support for our Applications hosted at AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a demanding, fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Actively monitor the stability and performance of Java based Applications in AWS data centers, Run the Application support desk for a 24x7 distributed enterprise environment.
  • Ensure standards and SLAs are met, including response time, follow up, ticket updates, and resolution Escalate events as required by the documented procedures with the proper level of urgency and follow-through.
  • Interface with L2 and Dev teams to coordinate next actions
  • Perform standard systems and website troubleshooting - diagnose troubles detected by our systems and work quickly to resolve issues
  • Apply applications specific updates and fixes.
  • Work closely with an existing team of skilled operation engineers.

Requirements

  • Computer Science related Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Should be willing to work in shifts (including night shifts) is must
  • 3-6 years of equivalent experience, including a familiarity with Linux systems fundamentals, networking and database technologies
  • Strong experience on Monitoring tools on SignalFX, Datadog, PagerDuty.
  • Strong experience in Linux
  • Hands-on experience in AWS platform (Services EC2, ELB, ASG, VPC, Route53,)
  • Prior experience in managing JAVA based application will be an added plus
  • Must have a good understanding of distributed computing and solid understanding of networking and UNIX system concepts
  • Working knowledge of at least one of the following scripting languages is also preferred: Python, Shell
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to interact effectively and professionally with customers and engineers throughout the world.
