Responsibilities will includeParticipation in gathering business requirements , study of legacy systems, carry out a suitable data model for Data mart or Data warehouse, prepare technical design / specifications, creating prototypes, develop routine for data extraction/ loading, study data cleansing needs and interact with users for cleansing of data before it is loaded into the Data Warehouse, development of metadata required for the Data Warehouse, development of OLAP cubes and ad- hoc and regular reports for purposes of analysis of various levels of users, maintain the Data Warehouse for producing accurate results and take care of performance issues suitably arising due to any inefficiencies in the backend database organization or OLAP methodology, provide technical/ user documentation and training, perform peer reviews of work items produced at various stages of the project. Participate in initial estimation/ planning stages.Manage a team and partnering with client teams.Effectively manage a team of 2- 3 members.Keep up- to- date with the latest trends in Data Warehousing technology, various releases of tools.Participate in evaluation of newer versions of tools and features/ suggestions to the client on suitability of new versions to their business needsRequired Candidate profileEngineering graduate with 7 years (total IT), Must have prior on- site experience in the execution of Data Warehousing projects.Should have managed a team of 2- 3 technical consultants.Must be creative, innovative and have an ability to work in a fast- paced environment. Excellent communication, problem solving and team building skills, a mustShould have familiarity with user- centered analysis and evaluation techniques.Exposure and appreciation to software engineering methodologies required.Aptitude for documentation and providing trainings. Good at planning the given set of tasks and report status periodically in a formal way. Ability to provide expert consultancy on Data Warehousing applications using ETL and OLAP tools on ORACLE platform.Must be able to provide expert consultancy on DW applications using PL/ SQL with Crystal Reports or a combination of these tools on Oracle platform.Should have project experience in PL/ SQL. Thorough knowledge of Unix & Win- NT.Must be updated with the latest trends in DW technology i.e. various releases of tools and enhancements and comparative idea of OLAP tools & ETL tools. Must have participated in at least one end- to- end DW development i.e. must have exposure to the full cycle of activities in building a DW too,
