You ll be a member of the product software development team and responsible for design, implementation, review and validation of software stacks that control various IOT enabled Philips Hue products/systems used in Home environment applications. The role offers several opportunities to work closely with colleagues in other R&D units in Netherlands, China and USA. Overseas travel opportunities exist to work with multisite teams. The role provides ample opportunities for professional growth and exposure to state of the art tools & technology. We re greater together through peer learning in our globally diverse team, with different backgrounds and nationalities.We re looking for a Software Development Engineer who ll be responsible for understanding of products functionality and apply the knowledge in the design/implementation/reviews/unit testing/integrated testing of the software that controls/realizes the intended functionality in the products/systems. The role is required to focus on continuous improvements to achieve operational efficiency and effectiveness in the execution scenarios.You ll be part of the Signify Product Software R&D team of Business Home Systems & Luminaires (HS&L) in Bangalore/India and its responsibilities are to develop and release the software functionality for various products of the business HS&L, so eagerness to learn, creativity/innovativeness, crisp communication, team player, taking proactive initiatives, focus on quality, timeliness, drive for continuous improvement must be in your DNA.What you ll do

• Lead and Contribute effectively to the Philips Hue Product software development/testing related activities
• Play a key role in design, implementation, review, unit testing and integrated testing of software as per the planning for the Philips Hue products/system features/upgrades, and proposing different possible options and recommending the best options with clearly stated Pros and Cons, to cater to the requirements
• Design and implement (as relevant) upgrades/features/releases and ensure consistent and efficient I&V and Release of the same
• Adhere to the standards / processes / practices followed by making sure your deliverables are of high quality and reviewed, taking part in peer reviews, participate in quality audits, checks
• Actively engage in internal relationships by way of Daily Stand Ups, Team Meetings, Retrospectives, Sprint Planning and Grooming Sessions, CCBs, Release Meetings towards project estimation, planning, testing and risk management activities

What you ll need

• Bachelor/Masters in Engineering (preferably in Electronics Engg) with 2 to 5 years of experience in Embedded software engineering with real time operating systems, Depth in Embedded/Microcontroller SW development, testing, debugging, trouble-shooting experience, Integrated Systems Big Picture view, Working in Agile Scrum teams
• Good understanding of hardware (analog/digital) concepts. Below Technology/technical skills/competences, tools knowledge:
  • Programming Language: C (must), C#, Python (desirable)
  • Experience in using cross compilers to embedded systems (like IAR, Keil, etc.)
  • Working experience with IOT Chipsets from NXP, Silicon Labs, Espressif, etc.
  • Ability to read schematics, experience with common hardware interfaces like SPI, I2C, UART, Flash and GPIO s
  • Hands on experience in usage of JTAG s, ICE3, CC debugger, Oscilloscopes, battery simulator, multimeter, RF sniffers Paryton, Ubiqua
  • Usage of tools GIT, SVN, Jenkins, NUNIT
  • Good to have domain Knowledge on wireless standards such as Zigbee, BLE, Wifi
