Project Lead

State Street Global Markets Technology is looking to hire a strong technology delivery person to lead the transformation in the Corporate Technology division. We have embarked on a technology transformation project to retire legacy out of warranty systems that no longer are of business value. This role is responsible for leading the Engineering team that would drive the application retirement process across landscape of the Bank. The role will be based out of Bangalore. Key responsibilities: Be part of the global team in driving the Application retirement project Lead the Analysts responsible for executing retirement process. This involves communication with different global IT teams Establish industry standard SDLC practices with extreme focus on quality and automation. Build an effective delivery team with very sense of ownership by hiring the right talent and mentoring. Retain accountability for the overall performance of the teams. Ensure talent planning, management and related supporting deliverables including but not limited to - succession planning, critical role identification, coaching and diversity hiring. Actively lead/participate in application retirement process for the bank Ability to drive the retirement process with minimum requirements by effectively coordinating activities with various stakeholders Creates project plans and deliverables and monitors task deadlines Provides advanced technical expertise in analyzing, designing, estimating, and developing processes that enable effective retirement process.
Problem solving and troubleshooting Conduct Analysis o Deep dive into an application to determine its fit with our future strategy and opportunity for rationalization o Conduct comparative analysis of applications, e.g. feature / function, quality of service, cost, technical stack to facilitate decision making by the Office of Architecture and executive management Develop and work a plan o Plan, structure, and execute diverse projects with engagement and cross- functional teams. o Identify and structure appropriate working groups to execute on our rationalization plans. o Align and collaborate with product demand management, governance, risk and compliance, and marketing initiatives. o Work with delivery teams to ensure execution on timelines and in alignment with strategy
Required Qualifications: o Technology Leader : 13- 15 years of related technology and domain experience. Strong technologist with hands- on experience in leading Enterprise grade projects providing technology leadership and leading teams. experience in a technology strategy role, project management or business analysis Strong written and verbal communication skills o Bachelors Degree in any field, IT CS would be a bonus. o Experience in working with global teams is mandatory
Strategic Mindset o Experience developing strategy and implementing next generation technology o Demonstrated prior experience performing application related analysis in financial services o Experience developing roadmaps, including costs, timelines, and dependencies, to articulate enterprise vision and strategy o Experience developing business cases Implementer o Ability to strategize on the development of enterprise driven, value enhancing digital strategies to drive increased business effectiveness, improve technology utilization, and enhance positioning to address business and user needs o Capable of identifying impediments across work streams and work collaboratively with other functional areas to resolve o High ownership, self- sufficient, hands- on leader to drive quality and maintain application stability Partner o Must be a skilled communicator up, across, down and outside of the organization as needed o Experience with prototype development, design thinking, and /or structured problem solving are differentiators o Develop a network across the organization in order to understand business needs and socialize our offerings Other Skills Broad and well developed analytical skills with good technical understanding. Excellent communication skills in written and oral English. Accuracy and attention to detail Project Management Experience preferred Strong presentation skills preferred Ability to lead team
