Business facing finance team supporting Partner finance for APJThe OrganizationCisco s Finance organization is an important partner to the business with a charter to keep Cisco compliant, while improving shareholder value. We do this by facilitating disciplined decision making through analysis, ensuring effective use of our assets, seeking profitable growth, and driving accountability.The TeamFinance Transformation Organization ( FTO ) is a key pillar within the Cisco Finance organization. The team s vision is to accelerate Cisco s transformation by enabling world class business insights and capabilities that influence business decisions and drive profitable growth. We constantly strive to improve and re-engineer, how we report, forecast, plan and tie to business accountability.The RoleWe are looking for the perfect someone to work as a Business Analysis Manager within the FTO team. The ideal person will be hands-on, highly execution-focused, and an ace in financial data analysis and reporting, with experience to back it. Understanding of how Cisco s Finance organization works, ability to manage partners effectively, strong understanding of our Finance & Operations functions, and ability to translate their business needs to our IT partners, for delivering capabilities, is key for a person in this role to be successful.In return, you will have ample opportunities to learn all aspects of financial reporting and insights, on a team that has consistently scored 4+/5 on all four categories of organizational engagement pulse (purpose, excellence, support & future) something that we are very proud of.Responsibilities:The job entails working with Finance partners in San Jose and other locations to gather requirements, advise them of interdependencies and impacts, process re-design (as needed), build and testing through reporting and adoption, etc. The candidate should have the ability to connect all the dots, and lead efforts for their track which would often be part of a larger business initiative. Effective partnership with multiple partner groups and senior/executive management is required on a day-to-day basis. The person will also be responsible for managing multiple operational projects, prioritization through QPR (quarterly portfolio review process), process standardization and optimization through defined governance models. The candidate *must* be very detail oriented, passionate about going deep, as well as going wide. Ensuring strong partner relationships are maintained, developing cadence for communication and interaction.
    • Articulating and managing the Business impacting vs Operational requirements and setting prioritizations.
    • Closely collaborating with the other initiatives / track owners managing interdependencies effectively.
    • Working with Finance IT and EDW teams to deliver critical reporting capabilities on time.
    • Manage and lead a team of contractors in requirement gathering data definition & analysis, business modeling, and business validations.
    • Maintaining and improving performance metrics of your project.
    • Ensuring the initiatives meet the investment requirements and have acceptable quality management systems in place to meet the quality and control requirements.
    • Maintain reporting cadence for overall track status to senior manager and executive team, peers, and other business partners on a consistent basis.
    • Promoting teamwork to drive rigor & delivery of initiatives and transformation of processes to respond to rapid business needs.
    Experience and Qualifications:
    • 6-8+ years of Financial Reporting / Finance Operational Experience
    • Bachelor s degree minimum in area of finance, accounting, management information systems or general business management. MBA is a plus.
    • Solid understanding of key financial metrics such as Bookings, Revenue, COGS, Gross Margin, P&L, Opex, Deferred Revenue, Accruals, etc., with understanding of Cisco s Product as well as Services (Customer Experience) business and different hierarchical views based on Sales (Regions) as well as Product (Business Entities) hierarchies.
    • Experience in analytics and supporting key business decision-making.
    • Experience / understanding of performance management, statistical analysis and trending a plus.
    • Strong hands-on experience with reporting technologies such as MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Hyperion Essbase, or comparable tools required.
    • Experience working with multiple data platforms and hierarchy management tools, with very strong enterprise data analysis skills.
    • Consistent track record of effective partnerships with various cross-functional business teams including IT
    • Experience at project management covering initiation, requirement gathering & assessment, feasibility study, solution design, execution & testing, and ongoing support.
    • Candidate must have strong relationship management and influencing skills and be able to work collaboratively and seamlessly at all levels.
    • Demonstrate ability to work in team environment and help resolve issues.
    • Strong written and oral communications skills
    • Consultative, collaborative nature and client-service oriented
    • Self-starter and highly execution focused.
