Department profile:Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Technology strives to provide a technology platform that helps the business deliver outstanding long-term investment performance, service and a comprehensive suite of wealth management solutions to a diverse client base.This position is for a VP level candidate with hands on experience in Web Services Development (.NET/C#) for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Financial advisor platforms (FAP). The department provides technology solutions for Financial Advisors and WAA/CSA. The application Suite includes Goals based planning system (GPS) and a comprehensive set of Business Components that enable the Financial Planning, Monitoring, Client Reporting and Business Management capabilities to end users.The charter of this team is to develop FA facing Websites and applications. Working as a member of this team, the candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting applications/services. This is a hands-on role and is responsible for analyzing user specifications and requirements and providing assistance in coding, testing and debugging applications.The Right CandidateHas in-depth understanding of the full software development life cycle.Experience in architecting and designing n-tier applicationsDeep familiarity with modern software development and design concepts encompassing a range of languages and platforms.Take ownership of small/medium applications, or application components and ensure delivery of the same through his/her team.Understands business needs and priorities, and provides thought leadership on potential solutions and the opportunities for technology to create positive impact on the business.Has excellent analytical and problem solving skills that are coupled with strong communication, anticipates issues and deals with them proactively.Is team oriented, highly collaborative, works effectively to build strong long term partnerships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and across a variety of business and IT functionsSelf-motivated team player committed to delivering on time and should be able to work with under supervisionDemonstrates a passion for technology innovation balanced with a pragmatic approach to developing and deploying solutions that best benefit the businessNimble, adaptable, able to express ideas in meetings & design discussions, comfortable with ambiguity; course correct when circumstances change., Skill Set:Primary skillsStrong leadership skills- 5+ years of professional experience using .NET technologies with an emphasis on C#, Restful APIs3+ years experience creating/consuming web services and dataShould have 2+ years experience of working with geographically dispersed teams, that fall across different time zonesDeveloping POCsStrong Communication SkillsStrong Analysis, Design and Development SkillsGood problem solving skillsSolid understanding and experience with Object-Oriented design and developmentMust have a thorough understanding of web technologies and web architecturesGood to have skillsWorking experience with Agile methodologies would be usefulPrior work on in the banking/brokerage industry a plusPrior work experience with multi-threaded/ performance intensive applicationsKnowledge of .Net core, docker or container based applicationsPrior work experience with cloud based applications
