*Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience., *KEY OBJECTIVEThe key objective of this role is to support and operate database cloud services for Oracle s industry customers. For more information visit https://www.oracle.com/industries/.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities include:* Provide escalation support for database related issues* Alert and diagnostic monitoring* Work closely with Product Development teams and provide feedback to improve product quality* Develop administration automation and monitoring scripts as needed* Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures/documentation* Share knowledge with team members as needed* Attend weekly team meetings and participate in team building activities* Other duties, as assigned* Participate 24x7 on call support on a monthly rotating schedule for weekends in a Follow the Sun organization.This role includes variable work patterns and there will be a requirement for flexibility of hours in order to support varying business requirements. Start and end times will vary depending on business need. We will consult with you should the need arise to change your work pattern. In addition to weekdays, you may need to work weekend shifts / overtime and an occasional Public Holiday, on a rotational basis. Appropriate compensation is provided for this work.RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING* Must be a motivated, team-player with the ability to work cross functionally with a can-do and do-it-right attitude, a self-starter, and constantly thinking of ways to improve the work.* Experience with Oracle database 12c, 18c, 19c, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Golden Gate, and performance tuning with Enterprise Manager for monitoring and administering mission critical databases.* Experience in Oracle SQL/PLSQL.* Experience with database backup and recovery.* Experience with database patching and upgrades.* Experience with Oracle s Maximum Security Architecture is preferred.* Experience administering databases on Exadata is a strong plus.* Experience in any Unix shell script, Perl script, or Python. Experience with Ansible is a plus.* Strong troubleshooting skills to investigate errors and performance bottlenecks* 4+ years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with a focus in Oracle and related tools, with strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive.* Experience with an organization with a key 24x7 reliance on its databases is preferred.* Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.* Verifiable Oracle certifications in Oracle Database are required.
