Job Description

We use a wide range of cloud platforms and technologies such as Ansible, AWS, VMware on AWS, SoftLayer, just to name a few. And we have a large catalog of internal and external training content that you can leverage, if you need to brush-up on something you know or to learn something new.What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for The Infrastructure Services team drives the delivery of services and infrastructure to facilitate the running of core applications that make up our global SaaS offering. The team is actively involved in improving efficiencies in service reliability with automation and software solutions through collaborative efforts with other R&D groups within VMware. We are often involved in leading-edge use cases of the SaaS transformation of the product and work towards automated solutions for both infrastructure and the application.We need someone who has a DevOps mindset to solving problems and maintains a high degree of ownership as we continue our automation journey into software defined data centers. You would be expected to own production issues and support the day to day operations of running 10 global data centers, including working customer escalations or supporting internal teamsSuccess in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing

  • You will develop a solid understanding of the SaaS offering. This would be demonstrated by your understanding of the full infrastructure and automation stack and delivering features around automation and SDDC objectives and data center maintenance.
  • You will join 24/7 on-call rotation schedule and work on a shift pattern. You may also be required to deal with any issues that arise outside of business hours.
  • You will be expected to work closely with our other Engineering and Services teams on projects and DevOps initiatives around automation, site reliability, and business continuity.
What type of work will you be doing What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis
  • You will be expected to come with 3+ years of industry experience in supporting and configuring data center hardware via remote management tools, creating and supporting various public clouds leveraging a high available approach or show equivalent experience in another cloud engineer role
  • You will implement and improve process around DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code and will be expected to come familiar with knowledge around our CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation tooling like Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, PowerCLI, etc.
  • You will also be expected to troubleshoot various production issues using your solid experience with on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure and services and know your way around the complete vSphere product suite (ESXi, vCenter, NSX, vSAN), F5 BIG IP, AVI Networks, DYN, Route53 and related products.
  • Collaborate in-person or on Slack and Zoom with other R&D teams, other Services teams on projects and integrations for our Cloud Services.

He has 10 years experience working on the WorkSpace ONE UEM product spread across multiple different teams Database, Application, Server and Network. Oliver s management philosophy is to build a team culture that encourages everyone to always challenge the status quo and empower individuals to make their own decisions and to always bring new ideas to the table.The core team is current made up of 8 engineers and continues to grow! The team has varied backgrounds and are spread out across the US and India (Bangalore).
