Job Description

  • Demonstrate ability to become a SME in managing and monitoring enterprise CDH clusters across multiple sites/geographies with high availability.
  • Assess the storage utilization over a period of time and keep management informed about scaling up the infrastructure if it is needed.
  • Make sure all the nodes in the CDH clusters are in compliance as per ITSS security guidelines and no due vulnerabilities are present.
  • Evaluate research and external technologies through rapid Proof of Concepts with partners and customers
  • Ability to generate ideas for new features through innovation and market / industry expertise
  • Engage in cross-company solution development task forces
  • Generate reusable assets, whitepapers, articles around best practices of the hadoop services
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in working with Hadoop Distribution platforms like Cloudera, Horton-Works, Ambari and others.
  • Install, configure and maintain enterprise Hadoop environment.
  • Hands-on experience in CDH cluster deployment.
  • Full knowledge of HDFS HA configuration.
  • Experience with cluster version upgrade.
  • Experience in deploying new services in the CDH cluster using CSD method.
  • Manage and maintain the Hadoop clusters for uninterrupted job.
  • Routine check-up, back-up and monitoring of the entire system.
  • Ensuring the connectivity and network is always up and running.
  • Planning for capacity upgrading, downsizing as and when the need arises.
  • Managing the HDFS and ensuring it is working optimally at all times.
  • Regulating the administration rights depending on job profile of users.
  • Proficiency in Linux scripting (Shell/Python/Ansible).
  • Maintain security and data privacy with Kerberos, knox and sentry.
  • Hands-on experience in various virtualization techniques.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Working knowledge of Impala, Solr and Hue.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, data warehousing & DBA.
  • Expertise in Apache Spark and Scala programming
  • You love collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find innovative ways to develop with cutting edge technologies
  • Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work
  • Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management
  • Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications
  • Apply different HDFS formats and structure like Parquet, Avro, etc. to speed up analytics
