Job Role Summary
Seeking candidates to work on challenging engineering problems for our upstream business that focus on exploration, development, and production of hydrocarbons. Specific areas of interest for this position include application of computational fluid mechanics modeling skills to tackle a range of problems in the upstream related to offshore marine applications.
Job Role and Responsibility:
Build computational numerical models and perform simulations using proprietary and vendor tools to provide design guidance necessary to solve business problems Analyze simulation results and develop technical reports and presentations Design, build and execute parametric studies using simulation models to provide engineering design or assessment recommendations for business decisions Create tutorials, documentation, training material or case studies Support physical model test design and result interpretation using CFD
Job Requirements:
MS/MTech or PhD (preferred) degree from a recognized university in one of the following disciplines: Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Civil engineering, Aerospace engineering, Computational Mechanics or related disciplines with minimum GPA 7.0 (out of 10) and above is required. Professional work experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling with hydrodynamic loading and motions of offshore structures. Knowledge of CFD software packages such as StarCCM (preferred), FLUENT, CFX and OpenFOAM. Previous work experiences in physical model tests in towing tank or wave basin and time domain modeling of floater station keeping would be an advantage. Excellent communication skills collaborative environment work experience is required examples include (i) ability to understand the problem posed, (ii) clarity and knowledge to define work plan/procedures, (iii) dedication to pursue the work/solution, and (iv) clarity in communicating results.
