Job Description

The Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Center of Excellence at Applied Materials is seeking an outstanding engineer in the area of plasma, magnetostatics and RF modeling applied to semiconductor processing equipment.Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Mechanical/Electrical/Aerospace/Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with developing or using computational plasma modeling tools (e.g. HPEM, CFD-ACE, VizGlow, Comsol), magnetostatics tools (e.g. Ansys Maxwell), electromagnetics tools (e.g. Ansys HFSS) or particle-in-cell codes.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • A technical mindset with great attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience with one or more commercial solvers as applied to industrial problems
  • Experience with programming (Matlab, Python, C/C.)
  • Experience with machine learning, statistics and design of experiments
Responsibilities
  • Works on complex CAE problems to enable innovative product development
  • Proactively validates/correlates results with real world data with significant contribution to subsequent model improvement
  • Engaged in designing architecture of new products and using CAE to develop new product solutions
