Danaher India Development Center (IDC)The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, France, Germany, Japan and China. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K sq. ft.Position Summary and OverviewThe Danaher Business System (DBS) is our proven system for achieving success. DBS is a philosophy, set of values, and series of management processes and tools that collectively define who we are and how we do what we do at Danaher. Our DBS tools are designed to help us excel in the areas of Growth, Leadership, and Lean, building on a strong foundation of DBS fundamentals (Voice of Customer, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Transactional Process Improvement, Kaizen, 5S, Problem Solving, and Visual & Daily Management).This role is part of Beckman Coulter in the DBS Growth-Innovation space. Our goal is to drive and support innovation in our global locations, which include EU, USA, India, Japan and China. Working together, these roles will help to lead the next phase of the Beckman Coulter Innovation Engine buildout.The DBS Leader is responsible for promoting and leading the successful implementation of DBS within Beckman Coulter. The position of Danaher Business System Leader Innovations (iDBSL) reports to the Site Leader at Beckman Coulter IDC with the primary responsibility to enable growth through the Innovation Engine, implement and sustain change through DBS processes, and lead the organization in a key enabling role. The DBSL functions as the leader within a cross-functional space bearing responsibility for driving improvement in New Product Development (NPD) and Innovation objectives. They will utilize Problem Solving Processes to identify gaps in process, talent, environment, and develop action plans to close those gaps.Major Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate the development and management of Innovation and NPD initiatives to achieve annual targets, Policy Deployment (PD), and strategic objectives.
• Develop and continuously improve processes and capabilities within Beckman Coulter Innovation and NPD at the India Development Center (IDC).
• Link business needs and opportunities to DBS and develop a roadmap to close gaps, install/improve processes, and sustain results.
• Solid understanding of DBS Fundamentals, such as Problem Solving, combined with knowledge of the Innovation Engine and associated tools that drive it.
• Create DBS Visual and Daily Management to drive visibility to kaizen funnel and sustainment. Schedule, charter, and facilitate kaizen projects. Develop framework and plan to build out DBS Certified Practitioner funnel and capability.
• Identify Danaher and Beckman Coulter standard methodologies, standardize and install across functions and sites.
• Train and install foundational capabilities in Action Planning, DM, Key Performance Indicator management.
• Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching. Augment with additional resources (DHR DBSO, other Danaher Operating Companies, outside resources). Pursuing certification in DBS tools for yourself and others.

QualificationsHands-on and able to balance tactical actions with thinking strategically. Views the business from a general management standpoint. Is very customer focused and possesses strong interpersonal and communications skills. Rapidly adapts to Danaher s values and gains the confidence of the organization.

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering (preferably System Eng.), Science, or a related field with 5+ years of leadership and/or practitioner experience in NPD and Innovation domain or leadership of continuous improvement.
• Mastery of fundamental DBS or continuous improvement tools
• Experience in developing software
• Proven ability to consistently deliver business results
• Ability to work with functions on the implementation of a DBS roadmap and implement key NPD and Innovation initiatives
• Superior skills in communications, training / adult learning, consulting / influencing; teamwork across functions, regions, and cultures
• Successfully leads change, facilitates alignment to reduce ambiguity, displayed proficiency in time management and action plan development and execution

Preferred Capabilities

• Hands-on experience implementing continuous improvement (DBS, Agile software development, Lean Six Sigma, TPS, etc.)
• Experience leading people and/or projects
• Exposure to and participation in a wide variety of training and facilitation environments

Travel %:

• Expected travel is 15% for initial 6 months based on the global situation and then less than 10%. Will include some domestic and international travel to support other Beckman Coulter sites.
