Work with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, Oracle Database Administration support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production support. Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.As a Senior Database Administrator, you are instrumental in researching, evaluating, designing, testing, recommending, and planning implementation of new versions of Oracle database and database tools. May act as a team lead during database implementations and for system operation and maintenance.Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8 years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM*s or a depth and focus in Oracle and related tools. Success at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is greatly preferred. Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable. BS or equivalent desired., Purpose: To be part of a technically advanced Database Administrators team responsible for delivering the industry s best Cloud Operations support to rapidly expanding Oracle Cloud environment and driving day to day processes which have been defined by the Global Nerve Center organization. To work very closely with Senior Management to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions to support the production environments.Description: As Member of a Cloud Operations team, this role will be to manage a team of Database Administrators responsible for delivering the industry s best Cloud Operations support to the rapidly expanding Oracle Cloud environment. While managing a dependable team executing tasks such as ticket handling, monitoring, managing, and tool development, this role will play a critical role in providing mission critical support to a Cloud Environment conducting more than 270 billion platform transactions per week. A key responsibility of the role will not only be to execute and coach on common processes and procedures but to continually raise the industry bar by driving efficiency and overall customer experience improvement into the greater Oracle Cloud system. Responsibilities: Providing technology expert level assistance for Developers and Systems Architects Troubleshooting and resolving database related production issues Database health and performance monitoring Database performance tuning and optimization Database change management and control Work alongside Architecture and Development teams to ensure product scalability and performance Disaster recovery planning and implementation Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle software and related products Capacity management and planning Managing database backups and restores Work as part of a global team to provide 24x7 on-call support on rotational basisRequired skills and experience: University Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics. 9+ years of relevant experience (Senior level) as an Oracle Database Administrator Extensive experience supporting Oracle databases in a production environment on Unix/Linux platforms, including most recent versions Backup and recovery using RMAN and OSB Knowledge and experience with the following: Oracle ASM, GRID, RAC, Oracle AQ, Exadata appliance, OEM Grid and Cloud Control Advanced PL/SQL, T-SQL, Oracle SQL Loader, and shell scripting Performance tuning, code optimizations. Experience working with high scale VLDB OLTP and OLAP databases. Experience designing and implementing High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions. In depth knowledge of database design, optimization, and normalization techniques. Ability to work well independently under minimum supervision and in a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task, excellent prioritization skills. Ability to make decisions and work well in high pressure situations. Willing to work in shifts
