This strengthened position in the market brings a continuous flow of new extensive and challenging projects. Consequently, Cyient is currently seeking a design engineer for its Water team.The individual shall possess design engineering knowledge, utilising sound civil design principles and specialist software skills (12D preferred) for the preparation of civil design models for projects to support the ongoing activities of a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy. Undertaking varied design tasks of limited scope and complexity under the direction and guidance of more senior Designers.The individual shall lead by adopting Cyient and their Clients values, ethics and code of conduct and ensure all business activities are carried out in accordance with these guiding principles.Professional Qualifications/ Education:o UG: B.Tech/B.E. Civilo PG: M.Tech/M.E/MSc Relevant to the water industryWork Tasks & Responsibilities:o Develop solutions to problems by using a combination of standard and modified Design methods/techniques in addition to those developed in previous assignments. Ensuring that solutions both make commercial sense and meet the clients requirementso Adhere to the specification, standards and brief to develop designs and where appropriate discuss with peers alternative solutions.o The individual will take lead role to produces designs, drawings and reports to a high standard. In addition shall be capable of carrying out self-check and review others work.o Compliance with Quality Assurance (QA), Environmental Management Service (EMS) and OH&S.o Proactive and work under minimal supervision and shall have ownership of the assigned work/project.o Collaborate with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverableso Seek and consider the opinions of others as is appropriate to the situation. In addition shall share knowledge to provide technical support and mentoring.o Manage delivery by planning work and breaking them into smaller tasks as appropriate. Inform and discuss with team/PM changes and assist in managing risks.o Identify benefits and limitations of current processes and technologies and contributes to the production of new and improved processes and technologies.o Assisting managers maintaining agreed utilisation rates and ensure own time is recorded promptly in the timesheet system.o Input to growing the team and developing the skills set to align with the Industry requirements.Experience:o 6+ years professional industry experience relevant to the water industry.o Previous experience of working in a multinational company and managing team to deliver medium scale projects will be advantageous.o Undertake, monitor and manage the design tasks successfully on multiple varying size projects and apply business systems appropriatelyo Able to call up to input/advise from other relevant teams or individuals.o Experience of working on projects involving multidisciplinary teams and having undertaken key roles preferable.o Utilise good time management skills with the ability to plan workloads, priorities tasks and meet deadlineso Effective in managing client relationships and expectations (internal and external).Skills:o Knowledge and skills in relevant design software (eg. MX, 12D, AutoCAD, BIM Modelling)o Problem solving/analytical skillso Ability to independently use basic theoretical knowledge of Design principles to analyse, interpret and conclude on standard matters or decisionso Familiar with relevant Australian Standards and specificationso Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environmento Skills in undertaking a co-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environmento Ability to apply new knowledgeo Skills in managing competing priorities and working under pressureo Computer literacy with proficiency in a variety of computer programso Ability and interest in leading and developing teamsCompetencies:The individual should be able demonstrate proficient level of competency in most of the below areas:Delivering resultsAct commerciallyManage selfWork with OthersDisplay Leadership,
