Position Summary

We re currently looking for a Director Platform Software Cloud to join our Platform Team to focus on VPX, VPX-Clouds, SDX, MPX platforms. You will get the opportunity to work on a wide spectrum of technologies including NetScaler the leading Application Delivery Controller used at major sites across the world.

Ideal candidate will be leading the team to deliver virtual network appliances for VPX, VPX-Clouds, SDX and MPX platforms.

Citrix Networking team is responsible for networking elements of the Citrix strategy. This includes NetScaler Application Delivery Controller (ADC), NetScaler SD-WAN products.

Platform team is part of the fast-growing Citrix Networking team. The team is responsible for delivering Platforms for all products within Citrix Networking product line including the following:

• The spectrum of platforms for Citrix Networking solutions
• Physical bare metal (on Citrix hardware),
• Physical hypervised (on Citrix hardware),
• Virtual platforms (XEN, ESX, Hyper-V, KVM, ),
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Openstack, Cloudstack, .)
• The complete life cycle of the platforms from architecting, to designing, to supporting them in the field and finally to seamless transitions to next-generation platforms.

Position Responsibilities

The Director Platform Software will take up Platform Software, Automation projects and the following are key responsibilities:

• Deliver platform software for VPX, VPX-Clouds, SDX and MPX platforms including test automation.
• Deliver tools, automation framework developments for platform software. Also responsible for test case Development, Implementation and Automating the same.
• Support release activities by tracking test executions etc for each release.
• Hands-on and work closely with product management, release management and support teams as well as teams across geographic locations.
• Hire, mentor and coach Engineers.
• Responsible for developing the team as well as helping team members with their career development.
• Inspire the team to compete and succeed in a rapidly changing market place.
• Take responsibility in the continuous integration, monitoring and deployment initiatives in product development.
• Jump in customer escalations and be able to think at fast pace to solve issues in product and services
• Determine and drive technical directions for implementation of project
• Demonstrate and develop software development best practices and drive them through the organization.
• Engage with other leaders across Citrix to align roadmaps, and identify opportunities

Qualifications and Requirements

• 18+ years working in the software industry with at least the last 10+ years experience in managing top notch teams and experience in building platform software for Networking functions.
• Bachelor s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, ElectricalElectronic Engineering or a related technical field. Masters Degree is Highly Preferred.
• Proven track record recruiting and retaining top engineering talent
• Strong in CC++ and Python programming languages
• Good understanding of Ethernet controller concepts like DMA, RSS, PCIe, SRIOV, VMDQ, Para virtualization drivers etc.
• Experience in software, tools and automation framework developments is must.
• Experience in defining test cases and execution is must.
• Deep knowledge of L2L3 networking protocols
• Work experience on L4-L7 product is an added advantage.

Experience with open source licenses and implications is an added advantage.

Experience in building software products for public clouds (AWS, AZURE, GCP) is an added advantage

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated ability to understand and solve deep technical issues

Demonstrable knowledge of running SCRUM or other Agile practice

Must demonstrate an ability to technically own a product or a set of features

Must demonstrate an ability to technically own and negotiate cross-functional deliverables across the matrix organization.

Good understanding of technology trends in the virtualizationcloud industry (AWS, Azure, ESXi, KVM etc.).

AWSAzureGCP experience is very desirable.

Broad understanding of technology trends in networking industry.

Must be able to articulate and defend technical positions
