1. To assess the patients on admission. ( Initial assessment )2. To take detailed history and physically examine the patient.3. To be responsible for sending the patient for the appropriate investigation as directed by the primary consultant and also to authorize investigations, which are urgent.4. To be responsible for initiating treatment to the patient.5. To ensure that all of the consultants instructions are complied with. He/ she is to complete the In-Patient rounds every day before 10.30 am, and fill the case sheets and progress notes (SOAPE format) without fail.6. To continually monitor and review patient progress and adjust the management plan when necessary.7. To ascertain that the necessary cross referrals have been made.8. To communicate the opinion of other specialists to the primary consultant.9. To check the dosage, frequency, route of administrations of all medications, considering all precautions.10. To take appropriate initiatives in Medical Emergencies when required.11. To explain all procedure before hand and take appropriate consents.12. To do the IDR on all new patients.13. To educate the patients and their families regarding the disease and the care plan14. To appropriately lend a caring hand to any patient and / or their families. To ensure that the patients` and their family rights are protected.15. To work in cooperation with other staff members in the wards and exhibit team work.16. Maintain good grooming standards, dignified behaviour and punctuality.17. To comply documentation as per hospital standards.18. To check the open records and see that the records are adequately maintained19. To prepare the discharge summaries well in time and brief the patient about the medications on discharge.20. To do night and holiday duty as per the roaster.21. To follow all applicable hospital policies, procedures, practices and participate organisational quality initiative ensuring the safest possible environment for patients, patients` family and staff.22. To apply clinical pathways where applicable.23. To assist Surgeons in Operation Theatre when needed.24. Academics To interact and follow the advice of the `Consultant Mentor`25. To attend all clinical meetings and workshops and actively participate in paper presentations.26. To be part of training programme conducted in the hospital and to take continuous initiatives for knowledge and skill up-gradation.27. Must be able to demonstrate competency in all of the following areas Basic Life Support. NABH Training. Fire Safety. Emergency Preparedness. Radiation Safety. Pain Management. Waste Management Protocols. International Standards Organisation standards. Infection Control Protocol.28. To participate in Medical camps cover events as and when required.29. To carry out the instructions of the Management as and when required.,
