Job Description

I. Purpose of PositionAs a member of the Software Engineering team, the Software Design Engineer will help build the core functionality both front-end and back-end of Hengstler-Dynapars Mobile app serving strategy in connected devices. Actual projects address the smart encoder and hubodometer market. If you are passionate about mobile application development and translating code into user-friendly apps, we would like to meet you!II. Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release, and support).
  2. Produce fully functional mobile applications writing clean code.
  3. Gather specific requirements and suggest solutions
  4. Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions.
  5. Design interfaces to improve user experience and help customers analyze, engage, and respond to collected data.
  6. Liaise with the Product development team to plan new features.
  7. Research and suggest new mobile products, applications, and protocols.
  8. Write clear and succinct documentation.
  9. Work effectively in a globally dispersed team.
III. Relationships
  1. Reports to Engineering Manager, IDC
  2. Interacts with Engineers, Engineering Manager, and Product Owners.
  3. Interacts with intercompany entities within the Hengstler-Dynapar group including Dynapar, Hengstler China, Hengstler Latin America, etc.
IV. Background and Skill
  1. Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  2. Experience: 3+ years.
  3. Hands-on experience developing and publishing apps for both Android and iOS and familiarity with iOS and Android UI/UX design guidelines, and with platform-specific UI constructs & widgets.
  4. Well versed in web technologies, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and database design (SQL/NoSQL)
  5. Experience working with APIs, either integrating a third-party API or creating your own when necessary.
  6. Experience with configuration management tools like bitbucket and git, Agile Project Management tools like Jira, CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  7. Good to have:
    1. Knowledge of cloud providers (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP) and work experience leveraging their services and APIs
    2. AI / Machine Learning experience (preferably using Python and scikit-learn)
    3. Linux system administration and shell scripting
    4. Experience with Node.js, JQuery, Twitter Bootstrap, Jade/Pug, Mongoose, Highcharts
