What you create is also what you own. Own systems end-to-end including requirements clarification, design, implementation and roll-out to customers. Improve the teams development processes and thereby increase developer productivity. Coach junior members of the team in dealing with ambiguity and actively participate in code and design reviews. Contribute to evolving the technical direction of MARS and play a critical role their design and developmentA day in the life You will build engineering systems and features to support human ad moderation. You will also build scalable tools and infrastructure that will be used scale moderation and to measure moderation quality. You will be challenged to work on optimisation problem for moderation task routing algorithm. • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• Bachelors (BS/BE) in Computer Science or related field Experience in a full stack product life-cycles including developing of UX and backend services.
• Experience of modern web development technologies and techniques, including HTML5, CSS 3.0 & JavaScript Libraries/Frameworks (JQuery, Bootstrap.js, Ember.js, Backbone.js, Knockout.js etc.)
• Knowledge of HTTP Protocol, REST, XML, J2EE, JavaScript, AJAX
• Experience developing objected-oriented software, with mastery of one or more relevant languages (Javascript, Python, Ruby etc.)
• Top notch coding skills in Java and/or C++ Demonstrated passion for user experience design and improving usability
• Strong sense of ownership and drive
• Sharp problem solving skills and ability to resolve ambiguous requirements
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance, scalability, and availability
• Ability to learn new technologies and systems Preferred Qualifications
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Advanced Degree (MS/ME/PhD) in computer science or related discipline
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop and HDFS
• Familiarity with Machine Learning and its applications.
• Familiarity with modern UI frameworks such as React.
• Knowledge of Perl or other scripting languages a plus
• Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
• Experience in optimization mathematics (linear programming, nonlinear optimization)
• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
• Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
• Previous technical internship(s) preferred
