Job Description

    Educational qualification: Master s / Bachelor s in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical /Manufacturing / Production / Industrial Engineering Experience: 12 to 16 years of relevant industry experience with exposure in managerial role Primary Job Responsibilities This position is based out of Bangalore, directly reporting to the Senior Manager Supplier Engineering and Technology (SET) department at Lam India and closely working with supplier quality, Supply chain and product group team across various regions. This individual would be responsible to lead a team of supplier engineering associates who work for mechanical, electrical, electronics and electro-mechanical commodities supported by SET India team and managed by SET global commodities team in US, Southeast Asia (SEA) and EU region. The Individual s primary job responsibilities are listed below:
    • Lead, develop and manage a group of 15+ supplier engineers and managers with diversified experience in any discipline of mechanical, electrical, electronic or electromechanical commodities.
    • Accountable for the quality and timeliness of supplier engineering tasks and projects and be a point of contact for any escalations. Additionally, report, monitor and control departmental metrics.
    • Interact with US SET commodity head and managers regarding workflow, prioritization, reporting out, resource management.
    • Assume responsibility of department functions including staffing, training, budget, management communication, PMD (Performance Management & Development), coaching and mentoring to improve overall department effectiveness and growth
    • Drive strategic vision and roadmap activities for the team in alignment with global stakeholders.
    • Work with leadership peers to drive process improvements at supplier sites, business process changes and ideas to reduce the cycle time to drive improvements as necessary.
    Mandatory Skills and Experience Required to Perform this Role
    • Minimum 8 to 10 years of prior experience in managing direct reports, hiring and assimilation, performance management and development of engineers with diversified experience
    • Demonstrated expertise in managing/owning various commodities like Mechanical or Electrical, or Electronics or Electro mechanical assemblies / component manufacturing in a large scale firm.
    • Experience of working with cross-disciplinary teams (including Supply chain, product group and manufacturing engineering) for major projects across various geographic regions
    • Demonstrated leadership skill in decision making and must have strong communication skills to establish strong engagement with US, SEA, and EU region SET stakeholders.
    • Expert in deep dive problem solving using various quality tools like 8D, Why Why Analysis, six sigma and lean tools.
    • Excellent business effective communication and Presentation skills
    Desirable Skills
    • Good exposure in Product development and Management in Engineering function is an added advantage
    • Experience in manufacturing shop floor of any specific commodity of mechanical/electrical/ electronic and electromechanical assemblies
    • Knowledge on Semiconductor equipment and its assembly process
    • Exposure to Project Management tools and techniques, MS Project and Gantt charts
    • Knowledge in six sigma (DMAIC approach), SPC tools and usage of Minitab, JMP
