Job Overview As a Qualcomm Hardware Engineering Compute IT team member, you would be responsible to provide technology solutions and lead the problem management and play a role of Global Service Owner for the logon environment to our vast compute clusters. The role requires strong understanding of Linux Virtual Environment, vRealize Automation and vRealize Orchestrator, ESX, hands-on problem-solving capabilities, preferred knowledge of Exceed On Demand or Similar tool, good understanding of IT Ecosystem storage, network, SLES OS, Blade servers, IT monitoring methodologies. (Sizing)oPer Unit Virtual server, physical server configurations and capacity calculationsoPer Unit Storage calculationsoNetwork bandwidth estimates oLicensing requirements during migration/deploymentAvailability Mgmt.oAvailability of serviceRole requires people management of team of 5 members, working very closely with teams across various sites, run projects across sites and track customer requirements.group, You would be responsible for Planning and Optimization of HPC (compute and storage) IT Infrastructure resources, serving as planning and escalation point of contact, monitoring HPC infrastructure resource utilization, while supporting various phases of EDA Design & Development projects and provide solutions to cater the dynamics of roadmap changes with speed and scale to ensure the expected outcomes. Play a key role in HPC resource forecasting, capacity planning optimization, reporting and develop predictive analytics, visualization and simulation models from large amounts of structured and unstructured data to identify new opportunities. Run the initiatives to design & develop simulations and models that represent the behavior of our global computing environment and resources for the purpose of resource optimization, what-if analysis, predictive analysis, and strategic planning. You will be expected to work with functional engineering, Engineering-IT, other Information Technology teams and Finance teams to provide data driven analysis, models and recommendations. Work very closely with a group of highly technical engineers and translate their needs into a business justification accessible to non-technical decision makers. Act as a point of contact during critical phases of Engineering Project execution for all IT related issues, work internally with various cross-functional teams and respond back to the Engineering needs. You will be hands-on and comfortable working in an environment where problems are not always well-defined, have strong communication & interpersonal skills and readily engage in solving problems within a highly collaborative environment,
