Job Description

Primary Skills:Oracle Exadata Database Administration & PostgreSQL/EDB Database AdministrationOracle Exdata DBA Job Duties:

  • Managing high-performance, high-capacity databases in a critical production environment.
  • Oracle database 11g & 12C RAC experience including build, general administration, troubleshooting (Break/Fix) and performance tuning skills.
  • Oracle Exadata, Oracle ASM, Dataguard and Golden Gate administration.
  • Performing Oracle Exadata upgradations and patching.
  • Exadata Storage cells & Exadata component monitoring and alert handling.
  • Administration of Exadata Hardware components, Storage Architecture & Administration/monitoring of Exadata components through Command line, OEM & ILOMs.
  • Implementing Oracle Exadata features like Smart scans, HCC, flash cache, InfiniBand, ILOM, Writeback Flash Cache, Flash Cache compression, HCC etc.
  • Administration of Oracle Clusterware (GRID Infrastructure) CRS management and configuration.
  • Performing administration through CELLCLI, DCLI,DMIDECODE,IPMITOOL,MEGACLI & other Exadata specific utilities.
  • Health Checks Reports generation and preliminary analysis for reports such as EXACHECK,SUNDIAG,OS WATCHER etc.
  • Replacing different Exadata hardware component like Hard disk, DIMM, disk controller battery, Capacitor, Storage Cell Battery, Motherboard, PDU etc.
  • Removal of specific storage node from the configuration and move data to remaining storage nodes.
  • Troubleshooting and fixing issues related to Compute/Storage node Kernel panic, Node crashes & bare-metal restore scenarios, Exadata Storage Expansion activities.
  • Performing SQL & Database Level performance tuning.
  • Backup and recovery, datapump and export/import.
  • Automations using shell scripting skills.
  • Perfmorming data migrations using various database migrations methods like TTS, XTSS, RMAN, Datapump, Dataguard and Flat Files using SQL Loader/External tables.
EBD/PostgreSQL Job Duties:
  • Installation & Configuration of PostgreSQL/EDB Databases.
  • Managing and Troubleshooting PostgreSQL Performance issues, PGBouncer, PGPool, EDB Enterpise Manager and EDB Failover Manager.
  • Performing datbabase migration from Oracle to EDB/postgreSQL.
  • Configuration replication between Oracle/SQLServer and EDB/PostgreSQL.
  • Patching and upgrading EDB databases.
Plus Skills:
  • Competent in Incident, Change, Problem & Release Management (ITIL Foundation Certified).
  • Exposure to Devops tools like Ansible, Chef, Terraform, etc. is highly desired.
  • Oracle Certification highly desired.
  • Oracle to PostgreSQL migration.
Qualifications:
  • Overall 10+ years as an Oracle Exadata & EDB/PostgreSQL DBA in a large global production support environment.
  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science Engineering or related filed.
  • Experience in leading technical solutions and troubleshooting mission critical problems.
  • Willingness to work in 24*7 Global support model.
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) & coordination skills is required.
  • Strong initiative and sense of ownership.
  • Must be an excellent team player.
  • Aid development teams for analyzing issues.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic & analytical skills.
