• This OSS design role brings in innovation and ensure deployment of the SRIMS platform tools in the OSS Space. The solutions and systems developed need to be responsive and adaptive to the changing network and give cutting edge features and experience to end users.
• Define OSS Design and Delivery of the Next Generation OSS E2E Solution in the areas Orchestration, Resource planning, Inventory, Workflow and Activation in line with enterprise architecture of BT and collaborate with wider stakeholders in networks, OSS, BSS and CFU teams to drive future innovation.
• The role holder meets business objectives, solves business problems, and furthers business success by applying industry, applications, and technical knowledge through the definition of high-level and Low Level solutions designs
• The role would be key in establishing the strategic footprint of the application across the platform. The person has to embrace and become part of the BT culture and make sure they live up to it. The Job requires setting up and following high standards of quality in all stages of work. Accountable for the technical Architecture and support the execution/implementation of the Next Generation OSS Fulfilment solution architecture in the areas of SDN/NFV, Service Orchestration, NFV Orchestration and Resource planning.
• The role is focused on best practices, technology, and delivering business value through high quality software. The role holder shall possess good knowledge of any one of SDN, NFV, SID, TOSCA, YANG and related technologies. The role holder meets business objectives, solves business problems and furthers business success by applying industry, applications and technical knowledge through the definition of high level solutions.
Youll have the following responsibilities
• Design, delivery and component integration test for OSS components across various CFU led programs
• Deep hands on, be able to get hands wet in evaluating, implementing and troubleshooting
• Accelerate Goals and Promises delivery through quicker time to market and uncompromising quality
• Drive the strategy for transforming critical OSS applications into DevOps CI/CD platform and modernize the estate
• Bring best in class industry standards/practices across software tools and OSS domain functions to deliver the best and latest for BT.
• Influence across pan Digital and Networks to come up with common strategy for agile development, defining the common set of tools needed.
• Responsible for design, development and support of OSS systems and application software to both internal and external customers by working closely with Engineering Managers.
• Ensure continuous improvement and productivity gains and cost efficiencies are achieved for team.
• Define technical roadmap for the tools and make them at-par with different Vendors in open market.
Responsibilities
• Role has direct impact on On-time and Right First Time delivery of MTP Operational Excellence where Agile and Modern IT solutions are key enablers.
• Create a brilliant Developer Experience by segregating common platform level tasks and business logic. Developers can concentrate on business logic for an agile delivery
• Drive and Deliver All strategic Digital OSS applications on DevOps - CI/CD platform across assurance and fulfillment. A step towards IT Modernization, Simplify Strategy and Quicker time to market
• Will be responsible for Network OSS Design specially in Infrastructure Plan & Build, Inventory, Business Process & Workflow Automation, Activation, Orchestration and Fulfillment
• Making decisions in the toolsets and mix of commercial and self-built products that will deliver the vision, with an absolute focus on the full lifecycle cost, the need to continually drive differentiated customer experience, overall simplification of the architecture and the need to continually reduce operational cost.
• Decide on the technologies and roadmaps that protect BT s commercial interests.
• Will define OSS Solution for IP/MPLS, Access, Transmission Networks, and SDN/NFV based converged network and generate design artefacts in form of templates
• Will Drive E2E OSS Solution Design for BT Critical Programs like GWAN, HE, WMC, MEAS, Dynamic Infrastructure Automation etc.
• Focus area will be network OSS fulfilment & planning domains, specifically Logical & Physical Resource Plan & Build and inventory management areas of Networks.
• Will be hands-on person who will define OSS Solution design and holds expertise inwriting functional specification, system & interface specification, HLD and Detailed design for OSS systems as required.
• Will define Network OSS solution for network technology & devices from Nokia, Cisco, Ciena, Huawei, Adva etc.
Youll have the following skills & experience
• Hands on understanding of the Tools part of the SRIMS platform like, NG-WFMT, SRIMS Service Desig, SRIMS Netops, Template Deployment Manager, Next Generation Activation Engine.
• QA experience in the above mentioned space to deliver CIT Model testing
• Collaborate independently with Digital OSS engineering teams to come up with robust DevOps CI/CD platform.
• Deep hands on and increased visibility of needs of all Digital OSS applications and be able to take decision on right set of opensource tools.
• Exceptional knowledge in Opensource tools, Java, Spring, Hibernate, Yaml, Cumunda (or any BPM) , Angular , Neo4J, TMF and related technology.
• 15+ years of experience in IT industry, with strong hands on technical skills.
Experience you would be expected to have
• Experience Working on the Orchestaration, Activation and workflow domain and network.
• Able to provide technical leadership for staff and work teams or task forces, particularly ITIL process areas.
• Good understanding of BT s OSS fulfilment, specifically 1) Hybrid multi technology resource Service & Resource Orchestration, Service Design & Assign, 2) Logical & Physical Resource Plan & Build, Activation and Technical inventory management areas of BT s Networks
• Good understanding of BT s Network domains and layers including a good appreciation of SDN and NFV concepts.
• Good understanding of BT s 21CN inventory systems and functions, process, technical capability and good idea of their transformation for SDN and NFV based network management.
• Good understanding/experience of external Standards such as TMF, eTOM, ETSI and standards such as Netconf & YANG
• Should possess good telecom OSS knowledge in areas like Planning, Inventory management, capacity management, orchestration and Activation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Service Design patterns implementation and knowledge
• Ability to deep dive on technical areas and get the best outcome out of technically challenging situations.
• Possess good hands on experience and be able to mentor technical teams.
