Job Description

SUMMARY OF ROLE AND OBJECTIVES:

The candidate will be key to support the new Global IT Strategy in the design, delivery, setup and management of a standard global SDWAN solution, coordinating with the Local available resources for site specific configurations and installations. The candidate will liaise with the local IT and non-IT personnel to facilitate the set up of the sent devices, the candidate will be the SPOC for the local IT leaders to support and improve the delivered WAN service.

ROLE & OBJECTIVES:

Main Objectives are:

  • Support the delivery, installation of the SDWAN solution based on the Group approved standards;
  • Liaise with the local IT and non IT personnel to facilitate the set-up of the solution on site;
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the SDWAN solution (change requests, incidents, service requests, etc.);
  • Be the SPOC for the local IT leaders to support and improve the delivered WAN service.

Assignments:

  • Design SDWAN Local installations and setups with support of Local Network Engineers based on the Standard & Competences provided structures;
  • Operation of Enterprise-level SDWAN Service;
  • Identify opportunities to innovate, extend and enhance service delivery wherever possible while maintaining the security and technology approved standards;
  • Apply ITIL approach to resolve technical problems;
  • Troubleshoot occurring issues, investigating root causes and supporting resolution of the issues found;
  • Serve as escalation point for all IT Teams in relation to the delivered service as well as in support of all other topics to better address troubleshooting efforts, providing guidance and direction in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems;
  • Perform daily system checks, verifying the integrity and availability of all involved infrastructure elements server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs. Ensure that the performance, scalability, and security is maintained and optimized;
  • Carry out routine configuration/installation and reconfiguration to SDWAN related infrastructure to maintain the expected levels of service and security;
  • Deliver quality documentation allowing for smooth day-to-day operations;
  • Improve existing processes through sustainable solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions or documentation by automation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • At least 10 years experiences in and hands on in complex IT Environments;
  • At least 7 years experience with network topics LAN and WAN and firewall technologies;
  • Knowledge about enterprise IT Services and their possible relations in complex Environments;
  • Ability to find appropriate technical solutions applying the group technology and security standards while being able to adapt to the local realities when needed;
  • Very good troubleshooting and analysis skills required;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with most levels within the organization as needed;
  • Objective oriented and result driven.

Required:

  • Strong command of network routing principles and WAN networking;
  • Knowledge of LAN concepts with experience with leading technologies (Cisco, HP, etc);
  • Strong understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF), Redundancy protocols (HSRP, VRRP) ;
  • Some knowledge of leading SDWAN technologies and core concepts (Velocloud by VMWare preferred);
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security (Cisco ASA and Check Point Firewalls), experience with Next Generation architecture is a plus;
  • Familiarity with corporate solutions for VOIP (CUCM, CUC), load-balancing - A10, end-point protection, Client VPN (including SSLVPN) for better troubleshooting;
  • Experience of using SIEM and use of Solarwinds monitoring tools;
  • Proven experience in incident management, service request management and problem solving;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships to understand client requirements;
  • Ability to deliver against deadlines and agreed targets;
  • Ability to work remotely with hands-on engineers over videocalls/phone calls/chats and any other medium available;
  • Experience in the development of technical and user documentation;
  • Demonstrated focus on customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a wide variety of audiences;
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities within tight timelines and high client expectations.
