Job Description

Purpose of the Job Contribute to realisation of Sub-System commitments through allocation of adequate team profile and methods within his / her domain/discipline.Accountable to deliver ATS Sub-System approved by the Customer and consistent with the System Delivery Plan across multiple projects taking in to account the project/program lifecycle.Ensure continuous improvement through Discipline Management network. Organisational Structure TIS RC ATS Engineering Department Organisational Reporting Direct report line to Domain / Metier Department Head Key Network & Links Department Head, ATS Leader, Other ATS Group Managers ( peers.) , Design Authority(s), Architects, Domain/Metier LeaderCompliance with ATS Engineering QCD commitmentsAdequate staffing: total capacity versus workload. Analysis and actions plan Responsibilities

  • Accountable to reach QCD commitments for his/her own Domain/Metier
  • Ensure that all Domain / Metier activities follow Quality processes
  • Manages human resources allocated to the domain following the standard ALSTOM people management processes.
  • Define and implement orientations for his / her department, in liaise with his / her manager (team profile, discipline evolutions in terms of technology / M&T (Methods and Tools), department competitiveness, )
  • Manage adequacy between estimated workload and capacity, trying to balance it and reporting staffing issues to the department head, and allocates adequate team profile to ATS projects.
  • Coach resources from his / her team when they request support
  • Continuously develop their technical and methodological skills by coaching , mentoring and identifying/allocating the team on training program based on the needs
  • Ensure that Experts in his department are mobilized on key topics for the Business
  • Survey and develop technologies, promote expertise within his / her department in liaise with World Class Engineering.
  • Implement & contribute to definition of his / her TIS discipline processes (common methods and best practices) and provides REX (Return on Experience) on methods & tools.
  • Support / Contribute to define Capex needs based on the roadmap at department level
  • Continuously motivate, encourage, evaluate, train and develop resources, in cooperation with department head / HR, as per approved performance targets
  • Communicate to his / her team company news and report to his / her manager information about his / her department activities.
  • Promote Alstom values to his / her team
Knowledge & Experience
  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical / Electronics / Communications / Instrumentation engineering
  • 12 to 15 years of industrial experience of which 5+ years of core experience in Software Product / System development / Requirement management / Integration /validation
  • Experience in Automatic Train Supervision/Central Control Center/Train management System / Signaling principles / Avionics / SCADA automation
  • Should have sound knowledge of Windows (2K, XP,Win7), MS office tools
  • Knowledge of OOPs concepts, OPC, XML, SQL and Networking fundamentals is desirable.
  • Capability to manage a team size of 10+ having passion towards building/mentoring the team to deliver program/project per QDC. Soft / Behavioural skills
