This role is part of the global IT Operations role and would be based in Bangalore. The R&D IT is a global team supporting Lighting R&D teams all over the globe, with most of the team members located in Eindhoven and Bangalore and rest located at other sites with relevant R&D representation. We are part of the Service Operations team of Signify IT and we offer customized IT services to the R&D community, enabling the R&D software engineers to innovate and achieve the desired speed and flexibility in their work. We are seeking an IT SW Support Specialist to strengthen our R&D IT team in Bangalore. Together with your colleagues, you will support the Digital domain tools used by the R&D software engineers. You will be the bridge between the R&D software engineers and the IT organization, translate their demand into reliable and supportable tools, and maintain these tools once they are implemented. You will have the opportunity to work in one of the most dynamic and exciting domains in Signify R&D. Together we can Engage with your team members and the Research and Development engineers to understand the current tool set that needs support and maintenance and become familiar with them; in due time you will be the expert in a defined set of tools Be the go-to person related to all DB issues and tasks and will make sure that all DB related procedures are reliable and documented Be responsible for the continuous availability and reliability of the assigned applications and DBs, including analyzing and structurally solving the potential issues Where requested, drive the functional and non-functional (i. e. security) changes and improvements Drive (or be part of the team in charge with) the selection and assessment of new tools, based on the R&D requirements. Stay up to date with industry developments and bring new ideas and opportunity for discussion. Experience assisting teams with SVN/ Git/ BitBucket , Jenkins and/ or experience with a Requirements Management tool is a major plus. Network basics with installation of software and configuration of server infrastructure will be added advantage. You should have strong organizational, presentation, communication and collaboration skills with p roficiency in English. You have s ound experience with DBs such as MySQL/ Maria DB, PostgreSQL, MS SQL. Experience with installations, maintenance, upgrades, migrations and support of DBs; query and report creation. Scripting capabilities (Shell/ PERL/ Powershell ) for automation of tasks; Knowledge in Python scripting is desirable.,
