Job Description

    Roles and Responsibilities Job Description Summary The Lead Engineer Product definition operates as a design team member providing definition of responsible module deliverables that meet customer, partner, and program needs. In this role individual will work with engineering, supply chain and other business functional teams to deliver complex aircraft engine designs. Lead Engineer will utilize their expertise to mentor and train team members while participating in section, department and business wide continuous improvement initiatives. Roles and Responsibilities Create definition of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 2D drawings, 3D reusable models in a linked model environment and Model Based Definition, tolerance stack-ups, change in design co- authoring and various other electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, quality and inspection within expected cost, quality, and schedule Works with engineering and supply chain partners to determine dimensionalconstraints and geometric tolerances required for proper clearances and fits whilemaximizing manufacturing producibility Ensure all interfaces between components are established and agreed upon byEngineering design teams of interface parts and engine systems Save applicable models to the Digital Engine, maintain & support up to date digital engine builds Export tag applicable definition created by self and responsible purchased services based on jurisdiction and exportability classifications Effectively utilize purchased service team members by preparing and sending work packages containing tagged hardware, definition of work scope, proper funding and due dates while monitoring progress and quality Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies/Procedures, EngineeringStandards & Specifications Continuously challenges self and team skills in functional area. Stays current withindustry developments in one s field of expertise Concurrently manage multiple projects to ensure program cost, quality andschedule requirements are met Active participation in short and long-term team, section and/or business goalsfocused on continuous improvement and simplification. Utilize Lean Six Sigmaprinciples to drive improvements to current business products and processes. Provide technical leadership for team members in the form of training, mentoring,talent development, and work verification In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area. Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutionsoutside of set parameters but with guidance. Required Qualifications B.Tech /Bachelor in Engineering with 5+ years of experience in the design drafting of mechanical components and subsystems Good hands-on experience with CAD tools like Unigraphics NX and PLM tools like Teamcenter & Vismockup Adequate understanding of GD&T and Tolerance Stack-up Analysis Desired Characteristics Experience with Aviation engineering/Turbomachinery product definition standards/processes/tools ASME GD&T Certification Exposure to manufacturing processes Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Strong oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems Established project management skills,
