Job Description

    • Lead SDET is expected to handle a team of max 5-6 members with a combination of QA/SDET under them. You will be responsible for managing the delivery of the assigned work under you which involves the functional testing of the features as well as the automation of these features. This will be an evolving process where the automation suite under your purview needs constant updating of the features getting tested and signed off. Any point in time, the automation suite developed along with the team will be used for regression testing during code deployments or for internal QA activities as required.
    • You are expected to manage the daily activities of your team, assign work and derive the required output with good velocity and threshold. You are expected to manage the performance of the team members and track it based on the objective and outcome.
    • This role requires extensive collaboration with the internal product, engineering and solutions team and the lead is expected to understand the functionality/feature that is getting developed and lead the activity with insights/right questions across these different teams.
    • Defect triaging and leading them from the forefront is one of the key activities and should be able to articulate/communicate your views clearly to all stakeholders.
    What would you do here
    • You understand and implement effective test strategies to assess the quality of the system under test, through effective test planning, test case designing, test execution and automation of those tests.
    • You voice your opinion in the design, coding, deployment, and post-deployment phases in a constructive way.
    • Youll implement and own quality gates for code changes, constantly raising the users experience bar, while enhancing development experience with earlier and consistent discovery of issues.
    • Our QAEs are not pure black box testers; they understand the software internals, debug problems, and write automated tests using a variety of frameworks.
    • You will develop high-quality test automation to drive lower operational costs and faster deployments.
    What are we looking for
    • 8-12 years of proven experience as QAE
    • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
    • REST and web services APIs testing/ automation using Postman & Rest Assured
    • Demonstrated experience in measuring and reporting quality-related metrics to identify trends and proactively solve problems
    • Experience using test cases & test execution management tools (like TestRail), Defect management tools (like Jira or Redmine)
    • Proven ability in designing and creating automation frameworks using one or more of the following Java, Selenium WebDriver, Junit, TestNG, Appium, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins and SoapUI
    • Exposure on Performance testing using Jmeter
    • Experience in writing SQL queries
