Lead Software Engineer Business Intelligence / Data Analytics Altair is currently developing Knowledge Works a next generation Data analytics platform with data preparation, predictive modelling and visualization out of the box. It is our vision & mission to develop a highly visual, stunning, easy to use, ad-hoc Analytics platform that will realize the Data Driven Enterprise vision of our customers. We are developing a cool technology stack that enables companies to store, combine, analyze and visualize data of any size, shape & origins, with ease in an open and unified environment.The platform can be deployed in private, public cloud or on an appliance. It is built for scale from the ground-up using the state of the art microservices architecture and containerized applications. Our server side stack is predominantly developed in Java/Spring microservices orchestrated via Kafka messaging infrastructure. The web fronted is a highly adaptive React/Redux/Typescript driven development with GraphQL serving as the contract between the backend and frontend. Very popular open source technologies/stack for Machine Learning and AI like Jupyter-notebooks, GPU processing are also integrated to the platform for state-of-the-art MLOps capabilities.We are rapidly increasing our team size and are looking for teammates who have a passion for technology and love to solve complex problems. It is an opportunity to be part of a team that will transform the analytics market.Job Functions:

  • Contribute to Knowledge Works platform software development
  • Lead technically and managerially a talented team of individuals with varied experience
  • Communicate and interact with all stakeholder of the product
What youll do:
  • Collaborate with the Product management and User experience team to detail the requirements
  • Translate the requirements to functional design
  • Identify appropriate tools and technology to develop the feature
  • Drive tools, technology and design unification across the team by sharing best practices and reviews
  • Mentor and guide the development team
  • Collaborate with the release team to plan and prioratize tasks, escalation and risk mitigation
  • Collaborate with documentation team to develop user guides
  • Adhere to Agile development process
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging web technologies and adapt as appropriate
What youll need:8+ years of product development experience creating enterprise scale web applications using tools and technologies below
  • Java/Spring Expertise
  • Python Expertise
  • Dev tools - gradle, npm, webpack, skaffold, jib, helm, docker, k8s, git, jira, Jenkins.
  • Technology stack - React, Redux, Typescript, Graphql, NGINX, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Vault, any of ArangoDB, PostGresQL, MongoDB.
  • Experience with enterprise application architectures, event driven, microservices, serverless.
  • Strong Object oriented design skills
  • Strong OS knowledge
  • Spark and pandas knowledge is very desirable
  • Experience in leading a team of developers is desirable.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed team is desirable.
