Job Description

At Cadence, we hire and develop leaders and innovators who want to make an impact on the world of technology.Position DescriptionWe are looking for a Junior or entry level technical writer to join our Design IP writing team ( Design IP Portfolio | SoC Design IP | Cadence IP ). This new writer will assist us in our customer product documentation. This position will assist in the updating of our user guides, reference manuals, datasheets, and quick start guides for complex product lines of customizable SoC products.As a Technical Writer for the Design IP group, you will be responsible for editing and rewriting user collateral across all Design IP product lines. You will also work with the Tech Pubs Manager and your teammates to design and implement a best in class configurable, topic-based documentation system.We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and to be a team member.Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, proofread, and prepare product documentation to support product releases
  • Convert content into DITA XML format to aid in transition to modular documentation
  • Work closely with engineering, customer support, and product management teams to create and ensure the readability, technical accuracy, and completeness of the product documentation
  • Aid in updating our python or Perl scripts that we use for automation
Essential Skills/Qualifications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Requires BA or BS in a relevant technical field or computer science, English or journalism
  • Minimum of 0-5 years of relevant experience in a technical publication role
  • Positive teamwork skills and collaboration
  • Proven ability to understand and retain complex concepts and transform these concepts into technical content that is suitable for customer documents
  • Working knowledge of publications tools such as FrameMaker, MS Word, oXygen; Visio is a plus
  • Experience developing DITA-XML documentation is a plus
  • Ability to deliver documentation timely and communicate schedule risks or issues
  • Experience in writing technical documentation for semiconductor IPs or SoC designs.Knowledge of documentation tools for scripting languages is a plus.
