Job Description

  • Identifies needs or receives request from L&D Director/Manager or business sponsor
  • Collects initial documentation from project sponsor and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Conducts initial project scoping to understand request
  • Works with project sponsor to complete performance agreement
  • Summarizes request and presents to training team management for approval to start project
  • Works with project sponsor, management and SMEs to understand needs, make recommendations, and develop training to continuously improve employee performance
  • Identifies the target audience, the learning objectives, training materials needed, and assessment to gauge the learner s understanding and the level of mastery of the performance objectives
  • Recommends training that addresses the knowledge/skill/ behavior gap to project sponsor and gains agreement to proceed
  • Identifies interdependencies with other audiences and projects and engages appropriate training and business partners
  • Identifies best instructional design techniques/modality to ensure maximum learner retention with emphasis on applying digital first approach that leads to learning solutions that are effective, but also efficient (for the learner to consume, for Learning Solutions to maintain, for Operations to administer)
  • Creates training content outline and reviews with the Learning & Development Specialist I/II (LDS I/II)
  • Creates evaluation/testing/measurement strategy, ensures impact is measurable
  • Ensures approach will achieve project goals
  • Provides guidance and feedback to LDS I/II and approves final design
  • Provides input and guidance to the LDS I/II/eLearning Developer (eLD)/Multimedia Designer (MD) on training outline and storyboard
  • Ensures training material is reviewed and approved by sponsor, SME, Legal, Compliance and others
  • Creates training outline, storyboard and test questions when LDS I/II resources are not available
  • Effectively uses training technology tools, including development of level 1 and level 2 online training courses using course authoring software
  • Develops solutions efficiently with focus on speed to market
  • Establishes rollout strategy/training plan
  • Identifies course assignment criteria
  • Validates course was assigned correctly
  • Partners with LOB and project team to communicate solution
  • Evaluates training based on Kirkpatrick s levels of evaluation
  • Designs, executes, and monitors the learning evaluation strategy
  • Monitors and responds to learner feedback
  • Measures the effectiveness of the training by reviewing learner feedback and testing data, addresses gaps as needed
  • Summarizes results/impacts and shares with the business
  • Measures the impact the training had on employee knowledge/behavior and business results
  • Builds and maintains strong partnerships with LOB and members of the project team based on a shared commitment to achieving business results
  • Develops and maintains a solid knowledge of LOB job roles, environment, goals, culture, key players, policies/procedures, etc.
  • Addresses LOB concerns in a timely manner, effectively resolves issues
  • Manages all aspects of training projects through the ADDIE process
  • Holds SMEs and others accountable for content delivery, review and approval deadlines, escalates appropriately
  • Regularly communicates project status to all involved parties
  • Stays up-to-date with business changes
  • Updates training content, as needed, in a timely manner to reflect business changes
  • Appropriately follows team procedures to document material review, maintenance and recertification
  • Identifies and implements changes to existing content that reduce future content maintenance needs5-7 years experience analyzing business needs, designing, developing and evaluating training (strongly preferred)
  • 7+ years experience leading large, complex projects (strongly preferred)
  • Previous experience analyzing business needs, designing, developing and evaluating training (preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship and meeting management skills
  • Self-directed, self-motivated, works independently
  • Organized, able to prioritize work, able to balance multiple competing priorities
  • Demonstrates ownership of issues
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills (strongly preferred)
  • Experience coaching, developing and/or mentoring people (preferred)
  • Experience with Office, Outlook, and Sharepoint
  • Working knowledge of CCB/LOB job roles, environment, goals, culture, policies/procedures (preferred)
  • MBA or Master s degree in HR, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, business or similar educational experience (preferred)
