Job Description

    Our client is a leading Indian financial house with businesses across wealth management, retail credit, SME and corporate lending, fund management, structured finance and investment banking.As part of the next phase of growth management and investors have decided to launch a venture debt fund with a focus on the Indian startup/tech industry, to harness synergies across the platform while also utilising its best in class credit and structuring capabilities. Significant capital has been set aside, and investors have already shown keen interest for providing growth capital.Management of this group is strong, comprising seasoned veterans who have established the groups as a leading player across different business lines - wholesale, retail, wealth management and asset management - in an extremely short period.Our client would like to hire a CEO/CIO for the venture debt initiative. The key responsibilities will be as follows:- Helping set up the fund entity - Hiring a best in class investment and operating team- Sourcing and executing investment opoprtunities- Charting out a medium term and long term vision for the fund- Fund raising from new and existing investors - including working with the other arms of the group (such as as wealth management) for fundraising- Managing investor relationships- Monitoring performance of investee companies and providing suitable guidance to their founders/management as and when neededThe successful candidate is likely to fulfil many of the following requirements: - Extensive experience in the VC or venture debt industry OR experience working in senior positions in leading startups- Have strong connections into the VC/startup ecosystem, - Have a fundamental understanding of VC investing into Indias tech landscape - A strong investing track record wil be helpful. - Have strong leadership, communication and teamwork abilities - While expertise in credit is not a requirement, being entrepreneurial and an investor at heart are fundamental to this role.This job opening was posted long time back.
