Ensure all assigned mandatory trainings related to data integrity, health, and safety measures are completed on time by all members of the team including self Compliance to Syngene s quality standards at all times Hold self and their teams accountable for the achievement of safety goals Govern and Review safety metrics from time to timeCore Purpose of the Role : The purpose of the role is to lead a team of medicinal chemists supporting integrated drug discovery projects for our clients.Role Accountabilities Provide strategic and scientific leadership to integrated drug discovery projects for our clients Liaise with the Functional Lead Medicinal Chemistry in US on project priorities and ensure that project deliverables are met. Day to day management and mentorship of a group of 12 15 medicinal chemists ,includes 3 4 team leads. Analyze SAR and be a part of team designing the next set of compounds, ensuring that the project deliverables are met within the pre-defined timeline. Provide regular updates on project progress to the Section Head - medicinal chemistry / Functional Leads and clients. Work collaboratively with the CADD scientists, biologists, DMPK scientists and the safety pharmacologists. Ensure resource allocation, data integrity and adherence to safety in the work place for the team. Specific requirements for this roleExperience- Candidate should have a PhD in organic / medicinal chemistry from one of the reputed universities in India / abroad with a minimum of 8 - 10 yrs. experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Excellent understanding of the concepts of drug discovery, preferably having prior experience of progressing a project from hit identification to lead optimization Extensive knowledge and experience in synthesis planning, synthetic methods and use of modern chromatographic and analytical tools. Has prior experience working with a cross-functional team, comprising assay biologists, DMPK scientists, computational chemist and safety pharmacologists Familiarity with molecular modelling concepts and tools is desirable Strong knowledge of data analysis and informatics tools Evidence of having a strong scientific capability Knowledge of route scouting and early process development Robust knowledge for process safety and hazard evaluation Familiarity with cGMP and regulatory knowledge Strong Client communication skills,
