Job Description

    Roles & Responsibilities:
    1. Manage the tooling department: Manage the day-to-day activities of the tooling department, including scheduling and assigning work, monitoring progress, and ensuring deadlines are met.
    2. Develop and maintain tooling inventory: Develop and maintain an inventory of tooling equipment and supplies to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained for production needs.
    3. Ensure quality control: Ensure that all tooling equipment and supplies meet quality control standards and are properly maintained.
    4. Oversee tooling maintenance and repairs: Oversee the maintenance and repair of tooling equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and longevity.
    5. Manage tooling projects: Develop and manage tooling projects to improve tooling efficiency and reduce costs.
    6. Manage tooling budgets: Manage the tooling departments budget and ensure that all expenditures are within budgetary constraints.
    7. Coordinate with other departments: Coordinate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to ensure that tooling needs are met and that production schedules are adhered to.
    8. Supervise tooling technicians: Supervise and train tooling technicians to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their jobs effectively.
    Technical Skills:
    1. Strong technical knowledge of CNC cutting tools, gear hobbing and shaving cutters, grinding wheels, and other related tools used in mechanical machining processes.
    2. Experience managing a team of technicians in a tooling department.
    3. Excellent leadership and management skills.
    4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    6. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD/CAM software.
    7. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.8. Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
