Job Description

HiI hope you are doing well.Level: 10 and 11Location: Bangalore (After pandemic, project want resource to work from Bangalore location)Title: Mainframe Batch Scheduling and Admin (CA7)

  1. Primary Skill
Experienced in Mainframe batch operations, scheduling administration using CA7 scheduling tool
  1. Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor batch jobs. Report/resolve issues and batch scheduling changes in CA7 tool
  • Set up CA7 calendars, late job analysis, review abends and suggest improvements
  • Review daily abend reports and recommend batch improvisations
  • Perform the functions against jobs on CA7 queues
  • Invoke Workload Forecasting commands
  • Code JCL Override statements
  • Use CA7 variables
  • Access and Create CA7 documentation
  • Handle CA7 virtual resources
  • Monitor batch & console alerts. Report using escalation matrix
  • Responsible for all initial break-fix activities in batch area
  • Identify & report risks to SLAs and engage stakeholders
  • Should understand and follow standard operating procedures/practices,
  • Support critical issues within scope and report updates to stakeholders
  • Provide effective response to stakeholders. Coordinate conference calls in case of a major incident - handle escalations and provide updates
  • Recognize risks to Service Level Agreements (SLA) and initiate actions to engage stakeholders to resolve the situation
  • Should be well versed with incident and problem management process. Experienced with one or more incident management tools
  • Document and update incident technical details in Incident Management tool
  1. Technical Experience
  • Well versed with Mainframe environment and CA7 batch tool on Mainframe
  • Very good experience with JCL coding
  • Expertise with batch scheduling tools - particularly in CA-7. But good to have skills in other scheduling tools alongside TWS/OPC, Control-M, CA-ESP
  • Experience to monitor consoles and other monitoring tools for various alerts and report as required
  • Experienced to support Production/LIVE batch environment in 24x7 support model
