Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com, is the industry s leading cloud computing platform. The AWS Marketing team is seeking a distinguished thought leader with a deep understanding of the startup ecosystem and practical experience with cloud technologies to join a knowledgeable and energetic marketing organization that is responsible for ensuring that startups are successful on the AWS platform.The world s most successful startups are built on top of AWS including more than 90% of the Y Combinator Top 100 and more than 90% of Forbes Next Billion Dollar Companies. In this role, you will combine your unbridled passion and enthusiasm for business and technical innovation with your expert domain knowledge about how early stage companies can become successful organizations. You will create compelling presentations and content that help startup founders hone their strategy, select appropriate technology, scale their business and overcome the common hurdles faced by new companies. You will provide thought leadership content and unique messaging about the role of cloud computing in the greater startup ecosystem. You will operate as the public spokesperson for AWS responsible for communicating with the startup eco-system, and briefing the press and analysts about AWS s role in helping startups. You will help to build relationships with other key startup influencers and maintain a positive and reinforcing presence in social media. You will identify technical, business and funding trends in the broader startup ecosystem and help guide AWS s strategy for startups.Ideally, you are already a recognizable figure in the startup community, in demand to present at significant startup events with an exemplary presence in social media. You are an excellent public speaker communicating original ideas to help guide entrepreneurs to successfully build lasting businesses. You have a deep and expansive network of relationships with existing venture capital firms, startup accelerators and incubators. You love to share your passion with others and exhibit good judgment in selecting strategic opportunities to do so. Your responsibilities will include: Delivering compelling presentations to drive adoption of Amazon Web Services with startup companies Write technical content like blogs and third party articles that guide startup customers to become successful Produce original and thought provoking content about the startup ecosystem that illuminates AWS s role in driving innovation Gain industry recognition and credibility as a regular keynote speaker, panelist and guest at technology/startup conferences, trade shows and press events Create video interviews with successful startups founders that demonstrate their key business insights and how they use AWS Collaborate with internal business development teams to define and build the most appropriate relationships with the startup investment community Maintain a strong and credible presence in social media channels relevant to entrepreneurs, developers, The successful candidate has: 10+ years experience working in, and advising, early stage companies with a special emphasis on technology companies A Bachelors degree; Masters/MBA degree preferred Strong knowledge and experience with cloud infrastructure technologies Superior oral and written communication skills The ability to work cooperatively with, and gain the respect of entrepreneurs, investors and business founders is a must A willingness to travel internationally and the ability to work autonomously Pre-established credibility and recognition in speaking engagements at startup events Extensive industry contacts in the broader startup ecosystem A published author in reputable research or business journals is preferred.
