Job Description

    Job Summary:As a Planning Engineer at Promac , you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our projects. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, manufacturing schedules for SMI(Self manufactured items) and BOI (Brought out items), coordinating with various stakeholders, monitoring progress, and providing timely reports and analysis to support effective project planning and contProject Planning:Develop detailed project schedules and plans in coordination with work shop, Engineering and purchase for manufacturing and execution plan with site team, contractor and customer for execution, considering all key activities, milestones, and deliverables.Review project scope, specifications, and contractual requirements to ensure accurate scheduling and sequencing of activities.Identify critical paths, potential bottlenecks, and areas of risk, and propose mitigation strategies.Conduct regular progress reviews and meetings with the project team to monitor schedule adherence and identify deviations.Resource Allocation:Collaborate with project managers and other departments to estimate resource requirements (e.g., manpower, equipment, materials) for each project phase.Optimize resource allocation to ensure efficient utilization and minimize project delays or cost overruns.Coordinate with procurement, QC, Inspection teams and obtaining MDCC( Dispatch Clarence) and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of required resources.Progress Monitoring and Reporting:Implement effective monitoring and control mechanisms to track project progress, including the use of project management software/tools.Collect and analyze project data, such as actual vs. planned progress, budget utilisation billing for the month and making catch-up plans for slippages.Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for project stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommending corrective actions as needed.Change Management:Evaluate and assess the impact of any project changes or deviations from the original plan.Collaborate with the project team to develop alternative strategies or schedules to accommodate changes while minimizing disruption to project timelines and costs.Ensure proper documentation and communication of change orders and variations to all relevant parties.Risk Management:Identify and assess potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project schedules or outcomes.Work with the project team to develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.Monitor and update risk registers, and proactively communicate any significant risks to project stakeholders.Lessons Learned:Capture and document lessons learned from completed projects to improve future planning and execution.Conduct post-project reviews to identify areas for improvement and suggest process enhancements.Qualifications and Skills:B.E(Mechanical ) with 4 years experience or Diploma (Mechanical) with 7 years experience.Proven experience as a planning Engineer in the Coal handling plant or Power Plant , coordinating and planning production/Manufacturing and site execution .Proficiency in project management software/tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
