The candidate will be responsible for the development of platform and applications aspects for the GWT UMTS Femtocell The candidate will be responsible for developing core network UMTS protocols such as RANAP, RRC, RLC and MAC for the UMTS Femtocell. This is a hands- on role, involving analyzing system behavior, designing, implementing and integrating enhancements, and then testing prior to release.Job Responsibilities: Developing in an environment using one or more of: Linux, GNU toolchain, Eclipse CDT and SVN.Developing for a target running Linux, ideally on a multi- core processors.Development in kernel space.Programming SIMs and TPMs.Developing in an environment using one or more of: Linux, GNU toolchain, Eclipse CDT and SVN.Developing UMTS (or similar) protocols such as RLC, MAC, RRC or RANAP Skills/ Requirements: Experience in developing applications for an embedded platform under Linux.Experience in developing UMTS (or similar) protocols such as RLC, MAC, RRC or RANAP.Significant experience in developing protocol layers in C and C .Experience in developing multi- threaded applications.Ability to take responsibility for an entire feature from requirements capture to delivery.Ability to design and implement robust and maintainable software.Ability to work at all stages of the development cycle from requirements analysis through architecture/ design, code/ test, interacting with QA and on- going support.Self- starting and self- motivated team player who can produce high quality software. Qualifications and Experience: Good academic record including a degree in Electrical/ Electronic engineering, Computer Science, Physics or equivalent.3- 5 years designing and implementing UMTS and/ or GSM protocols3- 5 years of hands- on work with embedded systems including use of Embedded C and C Significant experience of working in a team to deliver software to demanding timescales.,
