Extreme Networks is seeking enthusiastic, innovative and self- motivated engineers to be part of QA organization and verify best in class solutions for Extreme s next generation Enterprise Network Solutions. The successful candidate will join our quality assurance team as STAFF QA ENGINEERand will be responsible for developing, executing and automating feature and system test cases for layer2/ 3 protocols and deliver a defect free product.Job Responsibilities:Work with product owners, architects, partners, vendors, support and internal/ external customers in defining the product/ solution strategy and verificationResponsible for designing, developing and executing verification plans to ensure features delivered meet quality, scheduleFacilitate requirements reviews, feasibility studies and verification strategies and assimilate verification estimatesResponsible for risk identification and mitigation Provide technical and hands- on leadership across multiple project areas Design, develop and execute verification plans to ensure features delivered meet quality and schedule targets.Debugging and/ or trouble- shooting test failures snf Communicate test results, including all issues found with all relevant data, in written and verbal formats. Automate test cases for reuse on multiple streams. Required Skills:- Strong data networking concepts.- Working Knowledge of L2 protocols(STP/ MSTP/ RSTP, 802.1q/ ad/ aq, 802.3ah, 802.1ag/ Y.1731 (Ethernet OAM/ CFM))- Working Knowledge of Layer- 3 Protocols - IPv4/ IPv6, OSPFv2/ v3, IS- IS, BGP4, IGMP, PIM- SM/ SSM- Exposure to VxLAN, L2VPN (Pseudowire, VPLS) and L3VPN (BGP/ MPLS VPN) technologies- Strong Knowledge of product verification methodologies and strategies.- Experience in performance and throughput testing- Experience in working with test tools like Ixia, Smartbits, STC and packet sniffers.- Experience in scripting languages like Perl, Tcl and Tk.- Experience with Rational ClearQuest or other bug tracking tools- Experience in test case management tools like Quality Center- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsHighly Desirable:- Prior experience in dealing with field issues- Customer facing experience in key product deliverables- Experience with successful multi- site development projectsRequired Qualifications/ Experience:- Minimum of B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent in CS/ ECE/ TCE/ EEE- 2 years of relevant industry experience in Telecom/ Data Networking,
