Job Description

Perform a variety of complex, specialized, and technical tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets.Duties and Responsibilities of this LevelRelated to machines: Daily caliberation.Cleaning and maintaining the machinesCareful handling of the machine.Reporting to chief radiographer in case of any problem.Handing and taking over of job:Completion of pending work such as documentation, film printing and extension of studies.Prioritisation:Emergency vs nonemergency.Children vs Adults.Communication with the patient Identification of the patient by two identifiers.Collecting brief history of the patient.Checking the required documents such as request form- part to be examined, bill copy and serum creatinine. Fasting status / full bladder.Explaining the procedure to the patient.Verbal and written consent after explaining the radiation hazards, contrast reactions.Preperation of the patient for procedure.Performing the procedure:Checking the machine, functional status. Adjusting the correct technique as per the test and the patient keeping in mind the radiation safety guidelines such as least radiation dose and proper targeting o the study.Keeping the additional requirements ready such as loading the contrast, IV canula, thyroid / gonad shields.Positioning the patient according to the study with proper immobilization, collimation and protecting the equipments keeping in mind patient s privacy and dignity.Completing the study the earliest.Avoiding repeatation of the study, thus the radiation and contrast dose by above criterias and by consulting the Doctors for any doubts.Informing the after effects such as diarrhea after oral contrast etcAssisting the doctors and sisters in cases of contrast adverse reaction.Assisting by providing additional equipment / requirements for radiological invasive and noninvasive procedures in the department.Documentation:Entering the patient s details in the PACS along with details about the procedure, brief history, person performing the test, accession number, acknowledgement of the study etc Special attention given to document medical legal cases.Accurate processing to demonstrate the acceptable film quality with targeted documentation of pathology after consulting the doctor.Optimal knowledge about the PACS.Storing of data of all the patients as per the hospital policy in particular the MLC cases.Intradepartmental coordinationExtending support to the other colligues.Training of junior colleges.Extending the duty timings according to the needs of the department.Attending intra-departmental training program and following the rotation policyProper handing over of charges to the next shift person.Interdepartmental & Hospital related Coordination:Compulsory attendance for JCI, fire drill, Radiation safety trainings.Cordial communication with other departmental staff.Perform the described duties in the primary work area and demonstrate competency in at least one of the following: I.V. & contrast administration (DRH/RCH only), preceptorship, orthopedic radiology, pediatric radiology, off-site radiology facility management, operating room radiology, trauma radiology, GI radiology, out-patient diagnostic radiology, and inpatient diagnostic radiology. This may not be applicable to all Radiology sites. In addition to meeting competency requirements for work in more than one primary work area must serve as a super user for various radiology initiatives (RIS, compliance training, restraint training).Conduct scheduling and coordination of patient flow for work area or shift. Have participated in or initiated a QI, QC, QA project with documented outcomes. Conduct scheduling and coordination of work flow for the work area or shift. Serve as a Safety monitor on a routine basis, if applicable. Routinely function as an inventory auditor, if applicable. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.Required Qualifications at this LevelEducation:DMRT / B.Sc MRTExperience:In the relevant field is desirable but not must for Grade IUpto 2 yrs for Grade 2.Beyond 3yrs for Grade 3.Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:State Para Medical Board certificationKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:BLS certificationAbility to function without direct supervision.
